“Shhh! It's perfect...”

Having spent years going to Morocco and exploring, we have finally found the perfect place and will not be staying anywhere else, it's perfect. We both agreed that it would have been as perfect for us in our twenties as it will be in our 40's. Al-Limuna is the oasis we have been looking for, far from the madding crowd but close enough to nip in to the bustle of the souks, the bars and the entertainment. The house is surrounded by calm and the blanket of snow rests on the mountains providing a dramatic backdrop on which to gaze from the roof top, the bedroom balconies, the pool, the breakfast table, the garden, the verandah, the terrace, anywhere all day but especially when the colours change, either at sunset with a negroni or sunrise with fresh juices.

The staff are immaculate. One is barely conscious of them until just before you realise you need something. Latifa surprised us daily with exceptionally good fresh food, so that we felt thoroughly restored by the time we had to go. Sa'ed was a huge help for everything we needed and Zoubeida served us beautifullly, and always had a smile or a laugh for us. There are several different eating areas, three of which are out doors, and enough space for everyone to have privacy.

The interior has been very well laid out, the rooms are all stylish, spacious, airy with good hot water and walk-in showers. We enjoyed log fires in the evening when it was cooler, even after swimming in the pool in the sun that same morning, in January! The pool has some protection for small children, and camels were laid on for us to go for a ride. Getting around is easy and there is plenty to explore up in the Atlas Mountains as well as the city.

We and gone to switch off and read, but found there was so much to enjoy and explore, that we can't wait to go back again, to sit still and read.

Liked best: Waking to daily sunshine in large, light, open rooms with flowing curtains, and dramatic views, was the perfect antidote to London life.
Liked least: Admitting to myself that I would have to share this gem with TripAdvisor

“You won't find a nicer place to stay in Morocco”

I stayed at the stunning Dar Al Laimuna in March (having been in December as well - it's the sort of place you'll want to go back to). Serene surroundings with breath-taking views onto the snow-capped Atlas; friendly, multi-lingual staff to pamper you at every juncture; comfortable, stylish bedrooms, each with a sizeable ensuite bathroom; the list of superlatives goes on and on. A swimming pool, a large, lawned garden and camels-on-demand also make Dar Al Laimuna ideal for holidays with children (I was with my 6-year old daughter). Marrakesh is 25 minutes away by car, fun for a day trip but with plenty of nightlife as well. I can't imagine there being a better place in Morocco to spend a week's holiday. WW

“An oasis of paradise”

We stayed at the beautiful Dar Al Laimuna in October last year. It was pure paradise. Amazing 4 poster beds made us feel like royalty, with chic bathrooms with Moroccan tiles and soap stone. We loved standing on our private balcony looking out over the lawn (the olive oil comes from the olive trees in the garden - delicious), towards the stunning and dramatic Atlas mountains. All this to the gentle sound of sprinklers and the pool, and the amazing cook, Latifa, preparing breakfast on the veranda.
The staff are divine, and all speak French. The cook is fantastic, lunches were salads and yummy little filled pastries/quiches by the pool and lunch was served to us by the lovely maid, Zubeidah and the charming Sa'eed, who also makes the fires if you're chilly (which we weren't, but we appreciated the extra indulgence). Saeed also speaks English and could answer all our touristy questions.
We wanted for nothing, Saeed also organized transport for us into Marrakech which is only 20 minutes away, and offered to take us to the Souqs to help barter.
After the bustle of the souq, it was heaven coming back to the calm and serenity of the villa, a game of tennis followed by a G&T on the lawn as the sun dipped behind the mountains....we have already booked our visit this summer, with friends..Can't wait.
