“Top experience in Marrakech”

My family, and me we've been recently in Marrakech for 5 days and we stayed at this riad.
It's really amazing and in a perfect Berber style. It's located in a quiet place of the medina, far from the chaos but not far from the Jemaa El Fna place, which is reachable in 15 minutes walking.
The riad is furnished with good taste and details are not missing, the rooms are daily cleaned and bed are made daily. We asked them to organize a pick up at the airport so we had no problem to find them in the medina.
The personnel is fantastic: so friendly, careful and warm… we really felt as we were at home. Breakfast is homemade and really large: typical Moroccan bread with marmalade or honey, orange juice, coffee, milk, tea, brioche, yogurt…. So, after this experience in the morning, we decided also to have dinner in the patio in the evening where we tasted the best chicken tajine ever in Marrakech!!! The day after we decided to stay once again and we have been also surprised for the delicious couscous. We will never forget this dinner….. the candles, the food, the sound of the waterfall in the pool…. An experience to suggest to everybody and also to be repeated!!
The other very beautiful aspect of this riad is the terrace. It’s equipped both for the sun lovers with some comfortable sunbeds and for the ones who loves the shadow, there’s a very nice pergola under which it’s possible to relax on a sofa.
So Riad Jaune Safran it’s definitively a place I would recommend to everybody!!

“A beautiful riad”
Reviewed 5 April 2012 for a stay in March 2012

This riad is about 15 minutes from the main square. You will need to keep your wits about you finding your way home. Helpful hint if you get lost go into any riad and ask them to call and Zenhib will come and pick you up. Don’t get help from those men and boys offering as they are no help and will only confuse your lost state.
The rooms are very comfortable, beautifully decorated and air conditioned. The downstairs area is very pleasant with a homey atmosphere. The Terrace is a great place to enjoy your Moroccan wine and de stress from the hustle and bustle of the medina. Wi-fi is available which is very convenient. We were lucky to be able to leave our bags here for no charge while we were away for three nights. The breakfast is good and dinner in the riad was delicious but it was disappointing that we were charged more than we were initially told.
Washing costs 20Mad for a small amount per person. I don’t recommend using this riad to organise outside trips as we feel it is over priced and has inconsistent pricing. It would be better to go directly with a tourist company. Baroumatours were very professional with high standard cars and drivers. Their contact numbers are GSM 06 61 19 57 50 or 06 61 19 55 25 or tel/fax 05 24 43 16 77/08 08 36 97 52. Helpful hint always take the key (even if you are told to leave it) as we were left waiting to get in 40minutes in the cold on one occasion and 20minutes on another.

Reviewed 19 August 2010 for a stay in August 2010

Riad is beautiful, perfect decoration. The owner (Zenab) is a very attentive, helpfull and kind lady. The rooms are spotless, individually tastfully decorated, all with climatisation. A roof terrace is magnificent. Moreover this riad offers your a very quite ambiance and a good night sleep.

“Fulfills your dreams of Marrakech”
Reviewed 6 March 2010 for a stay in February 2010

This place is HARD TO FIND. I mean, so is everything in Marrakech, but on the first night I seriously thought we'd never find it. We ended up finally just trusting a kid who knew, when I said "near Hammam Zaouia" that I was talking about "Dar Chems! Yes! With the beautiful lady with the black scarf around her face!" He led us through the crazy streets and when we got there, indeed -- there was the beautiful lady with the black scarf around her face. The building is beautiful and not cheesed up with all kinds of excessive stuff -- just enough to be tasteful. It is quiet and wonderful inside -- but close enough to the Mosque that the call to prayer awakens you in the morning for the surreal experience that only a person from a mostly Christian country waking to the sound of the call to prayer can truly appreciate. It is clean as a whistle. The bed was hard as a rock, and it is tucked away in the middle of the area near Bab Tagzhout -- which, after we got used to it, was nice. The towels are big, thirsty cotton (which, after my hotels in southern Spain, was a welcome change.) The shower is hot. The big door at the front of the building is like a doorway into another world -- from the kind of scary, narrow street into a sanctuary. The coffee is hot and served with a smile and when you go down to breakfast right at 8:30 you see the gal scurrying in with fresh Moroccan bread -- and there's a choice of wheat and white (another welcome change from southern Spain). The big patio featured in some of the photos is kind of "for" the top floor guests -- which we were, and we loved it. So beautiful to sit out there in the cool evening under clear Moroccan skies. We saw the inside of two other riads, and this one had the perfect mix of old and new.
