We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Riad Nerja.
The staff are very friendly, the rooms are beautiful and the breakfast is simple but delicious. I am also vegan and the owner made a special effort to put together some tasty meals for me. I would strongly recommend eating at the Riad in the evenings at least once, because the owner used to be a chef and he makes amazing food!
Just a couple of things: The air conditioning in our room wasn't working properly and this meant that we had to use a fan supplied by the Riad. The room got a bit too warm sometimes. However, we talked to other guests and their air conditioning was working fine, so think this was just a problem in a couple of rooms. The streets near the Riad are are not very well lit at night and it was a little difficult to find our way back in the first couple of days. However, we got used to it very quickly and never felt unsafe.
The Riad is located in a traditional part of town (not very touristy) and some streets around are not very pretty, but the riad itself is beautiful and the walk to the centre was only about 15-20 minutes. Overall, we found it refreshing to be surrounded by locals instead of annoying tourists!
We would definitely recommend this riad to students and young couples.More
