My husband, 19 month old son and I stay at the Riad Dar-Najat for one night. I must say we had seen pictures on the internet but were in no way prepared for what we experienced. It was more gorgeous than we could have dreamed. Oliver, the owner and his staff were most amazing, interacting with the guest and entertaining our little boy (who loved them all). When we arrived, within minutes we were sitting down to a wonderful breakfast of freshly squeezed orange juice, eggs, bread and fresh fruit.

Oliver arranged for us to have a driver for the day to take us to the city highlights. It was perfect as it was hot and would have been impossible for us to do comfortably with a small child. In the evening when we wanted to see the city by night, on of his staff members walked us to town center. This was very helpful as it allowed his to become familiar with our surroundings and to be able to get back on our own. When we arrived back we were treated to an amazing dinner. Our dinner that night was many salad starters and an amazing chicken dish served in a traditional clay pot was to die for. We still talk about it weeks later.

The Riad literally took you to another state of mind. There was the sweet smell of jasmine oil burning, nice music playing in the background and an overwhelming feeling of belonging. We felt instantly "at home". Our only regret is that we only booked for one over night. Had we known of the amazing time we would have we have stayed a few days longer. This is truly a 5 Star establishment and I hope we get the chance to return sooner than later.

Dear travelers,

Firstly I would like to say that I don’t usually write reviews, but had such a great experience here thought it was only right to share our experience.

We were picked up at the airport using the hotel transfer service, while a little more expensive than if we had got a taxi independently, the driver took us directly to the door of the Riad which was very helpful.

Once we got to the Riad we meet up with Oliver who was as friendly as people have described him to be. He was insistent that we have a full breakfast before any thing, which was a great touch! He gave us tips and advice over breakfast and answered all the questions we had with out hesitation. We then meet his great team of staff who really made us feel welcome and part of their circle of personal friends!

We were shown our room which was just as described and perfect for us cool, clean, and well decorated. (please note: where ever you decide to stay in Marrakech if your going in the summer months be sure get a room with AC if not your nights will be rather uncomfortable). We were also given an “emergency” cell phone, with a direct line to the Riad and a taxi in case we got lost or needed help of any kind (luckly we never had the need to use it).

We were walked to the Djamaa el Fna (main sq) and Said made sure we knew how to get back which may seem a little tricky at first, but you’ll soon get orientated and it only takes 5 minutes from Raid to the main sq.

To be honest we ate every night at the Raid which was really great food at a good value, most guests that we spoke to agreed that it was the best food they had eaten in Marrakech.

All in all the Riad Dar Najat was one of the best places we’ve ever stayed at and one of the highlights of Morocco, so be warned you might find your self spending more time on the Riad’s lovely terrace, spending time with the great staff or dipping into the Jacuzzi than actually spending time in Marrakech (which is a vibrant, colourful, friendly and safe city).

We took a day trip to kasbah Ait Benhaddou, which was arranged with Abdul through the Riad. Well worth the drive as you get to see the mountains, the start of the Sahara and the amazing Kasbah all in one day!

Nothing seems too much for the guys at Dar Najat, on one occasion I got the craving for some potato chips and before I had time to think about it, I was on the back of my new friend Aisaam’s scooter on a mission to source some (to be honest one of the best experiences I had in Marrakesh)! And to our surprise on the final night we were invited to a traditional Moroccan wedding ceremony, just down the street an amazing way to get an insight to the real Moroccan culture!

All thats left for me to say is a big thank you to everyone at Dar Najat for giving us an amazing 5 days in the wonderful city that is Marrakech!!

We had an amazing week at Dar Najat. The Riad is beautiful and is like an oasis of peace right in the middle of the medina. We stayed in room Laila, which is a very nice room (very clean!). Furthermore you will never meet friendlier staff anywhere: they tour you through the city upon your arrival, do anything to make you comfortable (great breakfast they serve all day: no need to get up early!), arrange great tours outside Marrakech and are a good laugh. They even went clubbing with us!

The riad is beautiful and unique. It has the charm of a traditional riad but with modern comforts. The riad is decorated in muted brown tones and has African themed artworks displayed throughout. The colors, the decor, and the furniture create a very chill atmopshere. The room was furnished with air-conditioning and a flat screen TV. Though we did not use the TV it was nice seeing it there.

The guys who work at the riad are jovial and uber friendly. On the night we arrived one of the guys walked us out to the grand square area so we would know our way. The grand square area is less than a 10min walk away. We were also given a cell phone to take with us, in case we got lost. It is pre-programmed with the riad´s number.

Lastly, and perhaps most important is the breakfeast. As a New Yorker I enjoy coffee in mass quantities. I was more than ecstatic to find that at breakfast each tabel is given its own "IHOP" sized thermos of coffee. Rather than small european sized cups, there were normal coffee mugs on the table.

All in all....Dar Najat has the charm of a quintessential riad, with modern (much appreciated) details.
