With Youseff and Said's meet and greet and continued attentive help we felt safe and well informed to beable to hit the streets and markets situated on our doorstep.
Nothing was too much trouble and thank you Said for takng us to your special spice stall and helping me buy all the spices for Morroccon Lamb I really appreciated that!
The walk to the Riad Shaden is not for the faint hearted but well worth the effort it was like walking into a tranquil garden, beautifully kept and spotless.
You can stay in a hotel anywhere in the world but Riad Shaden was the essence of Morrocco, charming and far more personal and friendly (and reasonable) than a touristy hotel!
Once you embrace the Morroccan culture you get over the hastle of being approached all the time. The streets are a nightmare, they are very very narrow but it doesnt stop motor bikes, scooters, donkies, tractors and what feels like millions of people marching towards you
and you having to do all the dodging to stay alive!
This is the real Marrakech and Riad Shaden truly gives you access to this but giving the most perfect relaxing holiday with amazing staff and beautiful surroundings. The rooms were spotless and attended to daily. They were so helpful but also descreet and respectfully aloud us space but were always there if you needed anything. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Riad Shaden. Yussuf and Said could not have been more helpful and friendly, the bed was comfortable, the
2 meals we ate in the Riad were delicious, the water was hot, the atmosphere relaxed. We found the roof terrace on the last day , nice place to hang out.
Getting to the Riad was 'interesting' . We followed a chap who had a sort of cart with our cases along winding alleys wondering if we would ever find our way . The area Riad Shaden is located in is very much in the heart of the Medina, not at all touristy, a little unnerving on that first night but a great opportunity to see local businesses, ordinary people going about their daily lives. Staying in the area helped to make us feel ( only a little bit of course) part of the scene rather than simply gawping visitors.
