The Souk cafe is a very pleasant spot in the medina of Marrakech. The menu is complete, prices are reasonable. The homemade icecreams and the harira lentil soup are recommendations. They have a very nice rooftop terrace where you can catch a refreshing breeze. You can recognize the Souk cafe from a distance, there is a huge teapot on top of it.
No need to make reservations, there is enough space for many many people.

First of all, the value for money was very good. My wife and I had a large menu and a small one and we shared'em both.
I could not eat anything more than what was offered! Actually, I could not make any room for dessert so the waiter offered us to roll it to take away! Win!
My couscous was ok but my wife's tagine was overcooked (and not just a little)!
Starters were very good.
The rooftop is very good and comfy.

We have found this oasis of calm when we last visited Marrakech. A great central location super food and lovely staff.

I made the wrong menu choice (a chicken pastry which was very dry and tasteless) but friends had really good tagines. Lovely little terrace - very relaxing - friendly staff and a happy, authentic atmosphere. Would definitely return - for a tagine!

We had dinner in the Souk Cafe on our last night in Marrakech. It was a drizzly December evening so sitting on the roof terrace wasn't really an option, so we sat inside in a cosy corner. Lovely decor and atmosphere, although a tad chilly (there was a heater next to us but not switched on). Our main courses were lovely, nicely presented and delicious. A bit disappointed on the dessert front - the tarte au citron was nice but the presentation - cut up into wedges and stuffed into an ice cream glass, a bit odd. Worse still - the tarte tatin was more or less frozen and also presented in the same way, barely edible. In hindsight we should have stuck with the mains that were traditional moroccan. We also enjoyed the live music that was played. The two men playing were extremely nice and at one point played Frere Jacques as they saw our 5 year old being quite mesmerised by their music. They invited him to join in singing, but he was too shy. Very nice gesture though which really made our evening.
