Riad Dama was for my sis and I, the right choice! Spending one week in Marrakech, this Riad turned into our home away from home. The relatively new owners were excellent and beyond... Speaking French is an advantage, but you get by with English. They showed us around in the Medina, they cooked for us in the afternoon if we wanted our dinner there. Make sure you inform them of your meals early in the day - there is no restaurant as such. We picked one of two rooftop terrace large rooms and ate our breakfast (included) and dinner up there, but the choice is yours. The place is spotless with no insects. Be aware of steps if walking is a problem. My sis learned to prepared Moroccan food by the owner...in fact nothing was a problem. Note: Although always willing to help, you never feel pushed to say yes and you have 100% privacy. At the moment the Riad is being restored to it's old glory and it was fun to see the artists at work, painting the doors with the original motives. A jacuzzi will be added and the beautiful hammam will be in order by now. Do order transport from and to the Airport from them as they will direct the driver right to the door. The owner will gladly assist you with excursions as well. The Riad is about 10 min walking distance from the Djema el Fna and we always felt very safe, even at night. Alcohol is not served because of it's location inside the Medina. I'm just home, but long to go back soon!!
Within walking distance from the Jama El Fna but not in a less busy and touristy part of town.
The Riad is very comfortable, not luxurious but has a lot of charm and authenticity and this makes it a very nice place to relax and feel the atmosphere of the town.
The owner and staff were really friendly and helpful to organise excursions a taxi or a wonderful home cooked meal.
