We visited Marrakech last December for 4 nights and we booked this Idra through Expedia for a Noor suite.

The Riad has an ideal location to navigate in and out of walls of the city and to access taxis as well as the square on foot. It is unimaginable what lies behind those two doors and in that dark alleyway.

The staff was very attentive and the food we ate was very good quality and taste. I must admit that it was on expensive side. Karine, the manager was very helpful in all respects.

The bathroom was large and had Chanel perfumes for men and ladies which was a very good touch. It had an air con and a heater.

We also used the library on the ground floor with a real fire and we enjoyed some wine as well as films in late evenings.

The only reason, I did not rate this Excellent as there was a strange smell in our room which was eventually diagnosed but as we were leaving next morning, we advised them to repair after our departure.

I would suggest that it might be a good idea to book it directly with the riad and a good rate could be negotiated in off season.

We would definitely go again (minus that strange odour)!

Room Tip: Riads are not designed for children. It may not be easy to stay with very young children in any riad and not just this one.

Dear Urjit,

Thank you for sharing a review on Trip Advisor.
It’s a pleasure to read you and your wife enjoyed your experience at the Riad and could take advantage of all the amenities and spaces provided.
We actually don’t really know where this odor you talk about was coming from, we thought it could be the leather’s slippers. Indeed leather can have a very strong smell sometimes.
We hope you come back soon to Riad Idra.

Kind regards,

Karine and the team

This small hotel offers perfection. The service is absolutely impeccable - the best we have ever experienced and we have stayed in several 5* hotels. The food is out of this world. You can go and chat with the chef and if there is something special that you would like, he will cook it for you. Whatever question you have, they are there to help - where to go, what to see, anything - nothing is too much trouble. We loved Marrakech, but would normally not go back to somewhere like that a second time. However, this time is different, if for no other reason that we would like to stay in this lovely Riad again.

Room Tip: Just look at the website but they are all lovely.

Riad Idra holds a very special place in our hearts now. My mom and I stayed for 4 days and were so well taken care of we are now missing the staff! From the moment we arrived until the moment we departed we felt completely at home. Whether we had questions about where to shop, where to eat, where to go on excursions, Karine and her team were extremely helpful and had lots of great advice for us. Dinners, breakfasts even the teas served at the Riad were done with the utmost care. We are certain to return - hopefully in the near future!

My wife and I stayed at Riad Idra last week for four nights and it was excellent. I have worked in the international hotel industry for 35 years, so I am somewhat critical as a guest, but I have to say "chapeau" to the Manager, Karine, for her customer-focused approach. She has clearly recruited and trained her staff to deliver great service and they all seemed to want to go the "extra mile". The location is also ideal for both the old town/Medina and easy access for taxis to the new town. The hotel has been sympathetically renovated in classical Moroccan style, and overall this was a true 5 star experience.

We stayed at Riad Idra for 4 nights including Christmas Eve this December and our experience was nothing short of spectacular. This was a family vacation and we had three rooms booked all of which were tastefully decorated and meticulously kept.

The service at Riad Idra is exceptional and the staff go above and beyond to make their guests feel at home. Karine, the property manager, is a delight to work with. She welcomed our family of five and took the time to help us plan an itinerary and make bookings for every day. She makes wonderful restaurant recommendations and really has a feel for what her guests would like when suggesting sites and restaurants. On Christmas eve, she invited all guests for champagne and hors d'ouvres and surprised us all with small gifts! I had been in contact with her prior to our stay for arranging my daughter's anniversary surprise and she was always prompt with emails and really executed my vision!

The chefs (meal and pastry) are both superb! We stayed at the Riad for Christmas dinner and were thoroughly impressed by the 4 course meal they prepared. It was my daughter and son-in-law's anniversary that night as well, and they blew us away by the delicious cake they had prepared for this purpose!

The gentleman who serves at breakfast is extremely polite, and Ridwan who manages the common areas is very pleasant! I can't recall the doorkeeper's name but he was also extremely nice, and always greeted us with a smile even if we were coming back to the Riad at 2 AM and had to wake him up to open the door!

The Riad is extremely central in the Medina area and a very short walk to Jame' el Fena (main square). The riad itself exudes an air of calm and serenity and it extremely nice to have that experience while being a step away from the buzzing medina.

Breakfast is unique and includes a great selection that varies day to day and includes (but is not limited) an assortment of sweets, fruit salad, smoothies, and a main dish.

We could not have dreamt of a better experience and recommend this riad to all those who are looking for an extraordinary stay in the heart of Marakech!

Thank you to Karine and her staff for making our stay so memorable! We certainly hope to be back soon!

Room Tip: Can't go wrong with any of the rooms!
