There are so many Riads to choose from in Fes it can be overwhelming. Our decision was made on the location of the Cle de Fes. It is on the edge of the medina, less than a 15 minute walk to the blue gate, where there are lots of restaurants. Not a problem at night as the alley from the hotel is well lit, there are other Riads nearby, and then you are on main roads with lots of activity.
The rooms are large and beautifully restored. A very calm place to return to after a busy day. Staff are exceptionally attentive to anything you might like...tea, cookies, olives! Having a glass of wine on the terrace as the sun was setting over the medina was perfect. Our only disappointment was the dinner we had booked for our first night, it became quite comical as the chicken was extremely "tough".More
