A quiet garden, full of birds, A perfect swimming pool, wonderful imaginative food, cooked and presented with flair by friendly and attentative staff
We stayed for a week of relaxation, pampering and sunshine in January, and were thoroughly spoiled and petted by the staff, Manu (the manager) runs a happy team, who really care for their guests.
Agadir and the bustle and desert world of Morocco is outside the walls of this oasis world.
You can lie by the pool and bird-spot from your sunbed, or cross the road outside and wander on into the Souss-Massa national park, and see flamingoes, and storks in the estuary, and meet camels grazing.
Our second visit but not our last

We incredibly enjoyed our stay. The hotel has a beautiful garden and pool where you can relax for days. Location is perfect with quick beach/city/golfs access. Decoration of of the hotel is done with excellent taste and attention to detail. Staff well trained and very nice. Foodlovers this is your place, the chef is incredible and imaginative, during one of our excursions we bought fresh lobsters from local fisherman's and had them cooked buy the chef. A real delight!

We were very please to have chosen Dar al Maktoub for our Agadir stay. Not the greatest of rooms, but comfortable and clean. the hotel garden is a delight and the pool was wonderful, and we swam, even in a slightly chilly March. The food was lovely, both breakfast and dinner. We understand the hotel rooms are having a 'facelift' at the moment and we shall definitely return to spend longer there next time.

Not a luxury hotel in terms of rooms which are fine but in need of a little tlc (which is now happening) but the gardens, the infinity pool and the bird life of the garden were just up our street. You are quite close to the river estuary which can result in some interesting smells blowing in, but also close to a state palace so security in the area is very good. Food and hospitality of the management was of a very high standard

Room Tip: All rooms of ground floor and only 6 in total. Not much of a choice really

We really enjoyed our stay for 2 nights here.
It was a good base to go and explore Paradise Valley and the Atlas mountains.
The pool and garden are well maintained and our room had everything we needed in a classic style.
My only negative was that the dinner seemed expensive (25 euros) for a tagine and dessert.
