Yesterday was the first decent cup of coffee I had in Honduras, which is sad when you think about it. I have the scrambled egg breakfast. Bacon was a little too crispy for my liking but hit the spot. And the scrambled eggs were quite yummy. Did serve tang orange juice though.

I am a coffee snob, but not in the conventional way. Not looking to have the richest or most savory coffee ... but the best tasting proper girly delicious coffee available. And yes I am a dude, not ashamed of my tasty coffee preferences. There is a caramel frapp and a Mocha Raspberry that if you like sweet, will take you to another world ... especially on an island and in a country that doesn't quite get the frapp world. They have granita, which is fine, but proper espresso creations blow granita out of the water.

Oh ... did I mention it's for a good cause? The proceeds go to help educate a bunch of kids on the River Coco in Honduras ... so it's a double win. You get what you have been searching for, proper coffee, and get to help educate kids - what a good person you are!

Check it out yourself, you won't be disappointed!

Good coffee, tea and food. There's only about 2 or 3 vegetarian options and their sides rotate out daily with no real choice. All 3 times I went the sides were bland and average at best. The food was pretty good, but all the staff weren't very friendly. They serve no napkins with your meal, and the tables and "plates" are very troublesome to eat from. Good for a quick bite.

Rio Coco has delicious drinks to power you through your day. Open Mon through Fri 7AM-2PM, this cafe provides coffee that's rich and flavorful with beans from Nicaragua, Honduras, or Ethiopia. Rio Coco coffee company pays fair wages to plantation workers and uses the profits to fund schools in Nicaragua. This coffee is by far the best you'll find on Utila. They also have delicious protein shakes and fruit smoothies. Everything is clean and made with filtered water, so you'll stay healthy to keep diving . They have scrumptious snacks like banana bread, brownies, and pumpkin bread which are made fresh daily. Lunch offerings include turkey club sandwiches and veggie sandwiches. The cafe offers shaded seating, a dock on the water, and free wifi. They also rent stand up paddle boards. Located near Alton's Dive Shop, Free Dive Utila, and Utila Dive Center, it's the perfect place to stop before / after diving to grab some caffeine and a pastry. Fuel your body here.
