We took our summer getaway to Roatan and stayed in Lara's Dream! It was a fantastic place and Leonora was an amazing help to us. The house is in a quiet, and beautiful location. It is convenient to West end restaurants and activities, and easy to get in and out of as you explore the island. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure that our 15th anniversary trip was beautiful and peaceful.
Stay in Lara's Dream and it will become your dream as well.

We stayed at Lara's Dream over the holidays. What a wonderful house and the property manager Leonora is professional, helpful, and a wonderful person who assisted us always with a smile. We wanted a place to ourselves on the beach and that is what we received. The house is cute - the main level is storage and laundry. The upper level consists of a bedroom, bath, kitchen, dining room and living room. Wood floors and vaulted wood ceilings. The wrap around porch was accessible from the bedroom, dining room or living room. A hammock is right off the bedroom on the deck. Very cozy and private. We are seasoned travelers so we are accustom to having a resident dog adopt us for the week - she was a nice dog - and the sound of dogs barking. Some reviews noted dogs barking and there was some but not so much that it ruined our stay and you have to expect these things in another country. There are a few places you can walk to for dinner and entertainment. The Beach Grill is one - the food and service was great. I met Lisa - the owner - while walking one morning and she is a lovely person who borrowed me some sugar. One warning - bring bug spray as the sand fleas are relentless. We went scuba diving, fishing, snorkeling - wanted to do more but we ran out of time. When we come back to Roatan - we sill definitely stay at Lara's Dream.
We went to Roatan for our anniversary on a recommendation from a friend without really knowing what to expect. We booked Lara's Dream based on these reviews and WOW! We really hit the lottery. The house is perfectly situated on the beach and perfectly situated on the island. It's Away from the hustle of west end but close enough for a $3 taxi to all that west end has to offer. The pics and description of the house on the web do no justice. When you pull up and see it and then are greeted by the property manager with a warm smile and handshake, the house TRUELY sucks you in. Laraine covered every detail. We fully enjoyed the house and all it has to offer and all that's included. And we fully enjoyed the sea, sun, and entire island via dirt bike rental which I highly recommend for an experienced motorcycle rider. Laraine goes overboard to make it an easy, safe, affordable, personal and welcoming vacation experience... There were fresh cut flowers waiting for us cuz it was our anniversary... But please don't expect that... I think it was just because we were special. ;-) We will be back and we hope you go...
The Island is beautiful, Lara's Dream is very comfortable, and Leonora, the property manager, could not have been more helpful. After a day on the beach, sitting on the deck with a cold drink watching the sun set is the perfect end to the day. There are a number of restaurants within a short walking distance, and although taxis are inexpensive and the local bus service is perfectly safe, I regret not hiring a car to explore more.
What did I like least? The humidity, but it's a small disadvantage compared to all the positives.
An unforgettable experience, one I can thoroughly recommend.
