“Great day all the way around.”

Freedom Tours Fishing Unlimited-Day Boat Tours

We went out for a full day of Fishing with Capt. Tito and Greg and had a wonderful day. Not a lot of frills, but they were very helpful and we caught a lot of fish and conch. Had a wonderful lunch of our catch prepared at Caye Calker. Honestly one of the best meals we have had. We were somewhat tired of fishing so they took us to a great snorkeling spot away from the crowds. One of the best vacation experiences we have had anywhere. Thanks Capt. Tito and Greg!! Highly recommend.

Booked last minute full day fishing trip and was presently surprised. Brian was my guide and he was extremely knowledgeable about the area and had lots of secret spots. He grew up on the island fishing and used to guide for Pescador Tours and has the knowledge and passion for fishing with more of an enjoyable and fun demeanor.
I would book him again and recommend him to all my friends.

We booked 2 separate trips with Freedom Tours (Hilly-Boo). Reef fishing for tarpons and such, as well as Deep Sea fishing for whatever.

First, let me share some info. Hilly-Boo was recently injured in an accident. Don’t know the specifics to it all, but he was apparently shot. From our commuter flight over to the restaurant we ate at the day before, people asked who we were fishing with and when told immediately began talking about the tales of Hilly

1st day we were scheduled from 1:00pm to dusk/dark to fish the flats and mangroves. Evidently tarpon or more active in the early evening hours as they come out to feed. The guy showed up at 8 AM thinking they were taking us at that time. Needless to say we were unprepared and head to ensure them that we were scheduled for 1 PM. Carlos and Greg where our guides and returned at 1 PM as expected. Staying inside the reef we were on fairly calm water, short of the storm squalled move through. We faced in many locations in while on able to attract or catch any tarpon, we did catch a couple of stingrays in several snapper of various variety. We stayed well into the dark hours. Carlos and Greg worked very hard keep us on Fish. And we were overall satisfied with this experience.

2nd day. Or excursion was for deep-sea fishing. After all this area is known for some great trophy fish. I cannot remember the names of our guides as they were not very interactive. They arrived at the dock at 8 AM and we set up immediately. The moment we cleared the reef we realize we were in for rough waters throughout our trip. That in itself was a bit of trouble, but no fault of anyone’s. Shortly after clearing the reef our guides set out many rods and reels and for five hours we trolled, moved around, and fought the waves relentlessly, however we never so much as conjured up a bite. We are all well seasoned fisherman and understand some days the fish just aren’t biting but it seems illogical to think that a guided tour in an area known for its fishing supremacy would result in not so much as a single strike. Couple that with very difficult 6 to 8 foot swells throughout the entire day never letting up, and it just wasn’t much of day.

We selected Belize largely because my 15 year old son is such a fishing fanatic. After a great experience with a night fishing tour, we kept coming back and on a 9 day vacation, had four trips with this company - deep sea, snorkeling, and a snorkeling/fishing/lunch on beach trip. All were so good we just kept coming back. We were on 3 different boats and while prices are very reasonable, their boats and equipment were all solid and comfortable - small boats all had shade which was crucial.

All staff were just fantastic - two crew each time and every one of them engaged and working hard to help and make sure we got the best experience. We had one tough deep sea trip and got skunked, but it was not for lack of trying - they even extended past scheduled time to try to get my son a big fish! On Snorkelling trips they were in the water with us guiding, assuring safety and help spotting great wildlife.

All trips were great but my favorite was the fish/snorkel/lunch combo.... just great experience and AWESOME lunch made from our catches.

Freedom is not a high end cost choice, but we did not feel like we could have gotten a better experience with pricier outfits - just fantastic!!!

Four of us chartered the boat with Richard & Byron. This photo tells the best story. Caught this 25-30 pound mahi along with a dozen of its little sisters! Crew worked hard to get us on fish and keep us there.
