First, I want to emphasize that if you are looking for a mega-resort with multiple restaurants, etc. this is not the place for you; and it does not pretend to be. This is essentially a quaint full service lodge focused primarily on fishing but which accommodates any form of traveler. The food is a bit limited [fairly set times for meals, and no menu for dinner] but the quality of the food prepared is excellent. El Pescador has a very family feel to its management, and essentially every employee that I came into contact with knew each member's name by the second day. We were treated very well at all times. Our room [in the main lodge section] was very nice with a large and very recently renovated bath area. If you book any of the all-inclusive packages [i.e.: room, food and beverage, or fishing package, or diving package] your travel to and from Belize City [small plane ride from Belize City to Ambergris Caye, then water taxi to El Pescador] is handled by the resort. Any side trips, dive trips, fishing, etc. is arranged by the management and in general is paid for at departure. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at El Pescador. We are not sure we will ever return, due solely to the fact that there is so much of the world we haven't seen yet; but if we do return to Belize we will return to...First, I want to emphasize that if you are looking for a mega-resort with multiple restaurants, etc. this is not the place for you; and it does not pretend to be.
