Spent a week at this wonderful resort. Picked us up in a boat after arriving in small plane. Greeted with a nice cold beer. Staff were most amazing friendly people most called us by name. We do not fish so we were there to see the sights. We rented a golf cry from David at Carri bean adventures. Do not pay full price for a cart if he won't give you a deal ask around town or the bartenders may know someone who rents.
Food delicious and drinks were plentiful. I enjoy running 2 days ran on road. once to north ( very isolated) probably shouldn't have gone alone. Ran on road to south Lots of people, but best runs on beach compacted and cool breezes.
Lots of bars in town had a lot of fun at the Nook on Friday night Dj plays great assortment of music. Jaguars Fido just a few we had a fun time out Best street tacos -lady by Catholic Church some days she is second one in or she might be only one there
Went on snorkeling tour again booked by David to ? And sting ray shark alley only downside wish we could have snorkeled longer at first spot. If I went again would ask guide that took us to stay extra for some extra $. Did zip lining and cave tour. Super fun. Saw lots of Toucans try and go early in am tons of toucans in grape tree on path out of cave tour.
We ended up with lots of belizean money so one night went to casino and they only let you gamble with American money so able to trade it all in best tip ever. Spent day at Caye Cauker sp. fun day of lounging buy the lobster from the guy grilling on Main Street delicious.
Sad to leave would definitely go again

We chose Belize for our honeymoon and didn't know what to expect. We chose El Pescador based off reviews and the fact that you didn't have to fish everyday to enjoy the resort. From the moment we were picked up in the boat until we were dropped off to leave we were greeted by the nicest people! All of the staff at El Pescador were amazing. They all were genuinely nice people. We did a guided fish tour one day. Our guide, Emir, was extremely patient with us since we were not experienced anglers. The rooms were extremely nice and clean as well as the grounds and the beach. One of our favorite parts was the group dinner every night. We were able to meet some of the other guests and hear their fishing stories. We also went into the town of San Pedro. The people couldn't have been any nicer! We ended up splitting our honeymoon up by staying the remainder at another resort but wished we had more time at El Pescador! We will be back for sure!

Every year I treat myself, with my wife's enthusiastic support, to go on a fly fishing excursion . I chose El Pescador Resort as it was an Orvis endorsed destination.

The resort certainly caters to fisherman looking to land bonefish, tarpon and permit. They have lodge employed guides who are skilled in teaching as well as finding fish. As a bonus to the fisherman, it is also a destination that can be enjoyed by non-fishing members of the family. Fresh water pools, an immaculate beach, and activities such as snorkeling, kayaking and trips to Mayan ruins.

There is an all inclusive meal package, or purchase by the meal, with the option of trying local restaurants. We had some first rate dinners at the lodge. The bar opens at 3, for those needing a cold beer or rum drink after a hard days fishing and dinner is a 6:45.

All the staff are genuinely friendly and well trained. They do a great job.

The rooms are newly renovated with tile floors, AC, nice showers and bathroom facilities. Bring a good books or videos, as the only TV is in the bar. I actually found that liberating and hope they don't ever put TV's in the room.

I am looking forward to going back for more fishing this summer.
