You definitely need to rent a golf cart to get there. The drive will take about 45 minutes fro Captain Morgan’s which is three miles north of the bridge so plan accordingly. The golf cart ride is over a rough road filled with large rocks and huge puddles. Your butt, back and neck will get a workout on the way there. The scenery on the drive is not much. Road, mangroves, water and trash is about it.

Once you get to Secret Beach, and you get into the Belize “go slow” mindset, it’s all good. Relax on the beach in any manner of beach chairs, have a drink and/or a meal at any of the bars and restaurants. Swim, hunt for shells, sun yourself. Whatever you do, time to relax. This is one of the few places on the island it’s actually nice to swim. Our day at Secret Beach was one of the best days we had on Ambergris Caye.

Then, sadly, it’s time for the long rough drive home. Don’t worry, you can do it again tomorrow.

This is a beautiful beach, but definitely not a secret! This place was CROWDED on a Tuesday afternoon. Shallow, crystal clear sea was wonderful to swim in. Beach bars seemed to have claimed the beach...to use their chairs, which are everywhere, you've got to order from them.

This is a super long, bumpy trip down the only road that goes west when you are north of the bridge. Keep going...you didn't pass it! There will be signs to point the way. Also keep an eye out for birds if that is your thing. We saw pink flamingos and storks feeding in the marshes.

We spent several days at the Secret Beach, we had all our meals at the Bamboo Fence Grill. Geovanni, the owner and chef is very hospital and cooks one of the best shrimp and fish I had on all of San Pedro. He has a great attitude and I wish him the best. If you go to the Secret Beach, eat at the Bamboo Fence Grill. It is located to the left side, then you will see it on the right side. The place is rustic and non-descript but the food makes up for that.

This place is beautiful! If you’re looking for a secluded beach spot then this is not it but because it’s on the leeward side of the island it’s protected from the wind - great for windy days on the island. The water is warm and lovely for swimming. It takes quite a drive to get out there on bumpy roads in a golf cart but if you have the time it’s a great place to spend the afternoon.

Beautiful beaches with drinks and limited food menu. The drinks are quite expensive.
A large group of us went to enjoy the day. Only 2 empty chairs in the entire area. The coconut mojito was very good but all drinks were overpriced. Able to rent paddle boards and float items. Some very shady characters wandering around. Can walk in clear water for many many feet out to the ocean.
Rough road to get there but fun for a days outing.
