We are touring Florida and had heard that the island was a nice part of the state. Sunrise Gardens was one of the few places who offered one night stays so given the other reviews we booked it for our stay.

The welcome was friendly and always think that is a good sign. The resort is located just a short walk away from the beach and turning left or right at the end of the street and you can walk on the beach for miles. We stayed in apartment 2 which was secluded and very quiet. It had a nice kitchen and bedroom all very clean. If we had been staying longer would have made use of the facilities but as it was we went to the Waterfront Restaurant which is just at the end of the road for diner. There is a great pool area and also a restocking cupboard should you need any more towels etc. They also have a guest office with telephone and Internet should you need it. Only small draw back was air conditioning units situated just outside our bedroom window but after a long walk and a big dinner did not keep me from sleeping. Would recommend this place to anyone staying on the island.

We could only get away for one night, and Sunrise Garden Resort was one of the few places without a two-night minimum. The hotel is just about perfect. We loved having a full kitchen and thought the maritime decor, which is done very tastefully, was charming and relaxing. Bed was comfy, everything worked - cable, coffee maker, etc. - except the wifi. The crowd around the pool consisted of retired Canadians, which was fine by us. The whole atmosphere is quiet and neighborly. The location is perfect for everything on the north end of the island - beach, ice cream, tacos, shopping. The staff was helpful to the point of calling to let us know that our room was ready for an early check-in if we wanted it. We'd come back in a heartbeat.

We keep coming back every year because this is such a lovely little resort with a great location close to the City Pier and the Anna Maria beach. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are nice with kitchen facilities and private patio areas, & the pool is warm and well maintained. Beautiful, tropical foliage abounds throughout the resort which includes a great bbq area. But the best part of this resort are the returning guests who have become our close friends over the years. We look forward to our March vacation every year, seeing old friends & meeting new ones during happy hour at Mikes' Place by the pool.

We only stayed for one night, but really enjoyed this place. The grounds and pool area were the best part. It was within walking distance to the beach and restaurants. It was quiet and the rooms were clean with the exception of some sand on the sheets when we pulled the covers back at night. The only odd thing was that we didn't see anyone working the front desk the entire time we were there. They left a key for us in the box when we arrived, and we tried to stop back a few times, but no one was ever there. When we left, we tried to check out, but again no one was on duty, so we just left the key in the box.

This was our first time staying here. Each " unit" is a bit different and unique. Ours was very comfortable with a sitting room, bedroom, private bath and cooking area. We had a counter with two stools instead of a table/chairs but this worked fine for us. Staff was so very helpful. I needed a few kitchen utensils and Cory and Rachel took time to help find them in storage room. I commented to Mike that there was not a full mirror and within 2 hours he installed a door mirror. Just some examples of the cheerful service.
Great pool area. Lots of friendly "regulars" who return each year. Hope we can too. Only complaint really is internet very very slow. Used our own hotspot a lot. No DVD players but you're on "island time".

Room Tip: Call or go on Internet to see variety of cottage amenities.
