We usually start by driving up Midnight Mine road...a magnificent experience in itself, then take the Richmond Hill road from there back for miles of scenic 4 wheeling. Don't try it in an ordinary car. It's strictly four wheel, but what fun. We then take either the trail down to the ghost town of ashcroft in Castle Creek Valley or go over the very tricky Taylor pass down to Taylor lake. That last part is pretty expert. But the entire trip you'll be enchanted by the panoramic views from as much as 12,000 feet altitude! Try it, you'll like it if you're not afraid of heights
