Awesome! Spent 16th anniversary and was not disappointed. Staff very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and at home... my favorite was sitting in lounge area and watching boats in the harbor. Definitely recommend this hotel if staying in Catalina. We plan on staying again in the future! Money well spent!

Vista Del Mar is a must stay location while visiting the island.. The hotel location is one of the best, rooms are an acceptable size, nicely maintained, beautifully decorated.. The hotel iitself is upstairs so may not be as accessible for some individuals.. The staff was courteous and always willing to assist with whatever was needed.. My wife and I will be returning for another visit and is certainly a recommended location..

I've stayed at a lot of hotels on Catalina Island over the years, and this is my favorite. The rooms are stylish and comfortable. I like how this hotel hides a bit from the main drag.
It's like finding a secret door, but it's a simple stairway. You're thinking it's leading to Steve's Steakhouse, but then there are more stairs up to the lobby of the hotel. In fact the small lobby area is the best part, because of a terrific view looking over the harbor, green pier, and fun people watching from the 2nd floor. It would have been an ideal location for Julius Caesar to give his "Friends Romans, Countrymen" Speech for the people down below on Crescent Ave. There is also a private back entrance from the lobby if you need to avoid the paparazzi. I like the electric fireplace in the rooms.

Room tip: An expensive place if you are going a a peak time of year.

This hotel is beautifully maintained and in the best location, right in the middle of everything. The rooms were nicely decorated and updated. Staff was unbelievably helpful and pleasant! Continental breakfast was good. The only negative I would say is the size of the room.
