We decided to take a short car trip and ran up to Auburn for lunch at the Sizzler a couple days ago. Friends of ours in the car club first told us about this place several year ago. It is widely know as a great spot for large groups of people to meet for lunch or dinner. I'm talking about everything from car clubs and local business groups to the Gambler's Special Busses that go to Reno and stop there for a break.
Interesting story, the entire back wall portion of the restaurant dining area is enclosed with plate glass windows. I've been told by several that if the State ever decides to build the "Auburn Dam", the folks sitting there in that Sizzler will have a terrific front row seat to watch history being made. Yes, the view is that good; great conversation starter for such a large dining room.
Personally, I have always preferred going to a Sizzler whenever you have a large group of people to feed. It is virtually impossible to go there with a picky eater or many picky eaters who cannot find something good that strikes their food palate. The variety of menu options is incredible and the portions are reasonable. I particularly like the service you receive there from the wait staff each and EVERY time I go there.
Bottom line, whether you are heading up to Reno or just taking a short drive out of Sacramento, this place can serve as your final destination or as your oasis. Enjoy!!
