“Gumbo was the best part.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 May 2012

Food was good, however the gumbo was quite delicious. Of the 3 different entrees, we would order the Salmon in a heartbeat. Very tasty. Mood is very Naw'lins mystique as the Pirates of the Carribean waters border the restaurant. Service was sub-par, but we would go back.

“Good food, a little pricey, but if you get the front row table, well worth it.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 May 2012

A neat experience, eating amoungst the fireflies. If you can get the front row on the water definitely dinehere! The food was pricey but good. You are, afterall paying a premium for the location.

“Great atmosphere. Worth it...”

Worth it, but food is average. You do it for the atmosphere. Better food at Ariel's Grotto.

“Just O.K.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2012

It is very expensive but the food is good. The place is dark and kind of smelly with the tables close together. You really dont get the sense of being in a "bayou" unless you are sitting by the water and watching the boats go by.

“Not all that good !”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2012

Ever since visiting Disneyland and riding Pirates of the Caribbean many years ago I have wanted to eat at the Blue Bayou. It looks like such a nice place to eat sitting there alongside the water and the Pirates ride. Well until the group that I was there with actually did eat there just a couple nights ago.

Sure there was a wait but if you don't make reservations then that is what you expect so no problem there.

Our group had 7 adults and 1 child and we were seated at a table that was probably designed for 5 or 6 ? So we were all seated pretty cramped and tightly together.

Most of the restaurant is so dark that it is difficult at best to even be able to read the menu, and the menu is very limited with no appetizers section at all, a very limited menu selection, and it is designed to get people in and out and turn tables faster rather than to provide for even a good dining experience.

Food was higher priced and to be honest was not even ok food. Crab Cakes were poor and lacked quality and flavor, jambalaya was well disgusting and was not eaten, and while the steak and short ribs were very tender also lacked the flavor that you would expect for the price.

Service was overall pretty good, but it took a while to order despite 4 or 5 previous visits to the table even with everyone ready and wanting to order.

I don't look at the Blue Bayou as just another Disney restaurant, with the location and the prices the atmosphere (lighting) and the food should be a lot better !

Would I go back ? Maybe but just for dessert and to sit and watch the water and of course Pirates of the Caribbean. Not for anything else.
