You'll be blown away by a boutique and historic hotel offering so much opulence. With a five star restaurant on the premises, you must try the chefs menu. There are also custom Jefferson Hotel games to enjoy the hotel and/or enjoy the city. The city does not have a skyline, but request a room with a decent city view, and they'll deliver. (We got a beautiful view of the Washington Monument.) A hop, skip, and jump from the White House, you'll want to enjoy everything this city has to offer.
Tips:
1 - Although the hotel offers an 'on demand, first-come-first-served car, don't worry about transportation. Metro stops are everywhere, but taxis are very inexpensive for a city this size. (If you get one of the red ones, these are newer and cleaner.)
2 - The Newseum is fantastic, and the concierge gave us coupons. We thought we'd be there an hour and we were there over 3 -- great kids activities.
3 - Bring comfy walking shoes! This is a city to be explored on foot.
4 - If you're a chamomile fan, this hotel has one of the best I've had. (I'm not importing it from the UK.)
5 - Although their two restaurants are collocated, they are totally different experiences. Try them both!
