“Great location. Not much of a draw otherwise.”

The location is just great --walking distance to both Georgetown and the Mall. The rooms are tastefully furnished but are generally on the small side. The place is clean and well-managed. The rest is standard "marriottness": very standard amenities, internet for a fee (though they do have one computer with free access in the lobby), super expensive parking, not much of a restaurant. Very bland --sorry. For what you have to pay (i.e., $250+++), you just leave the place underwhelmed. There's seriously not that much to remember the place by.

When we showed up here we were tired from a challenging 5 hour drive. The valet were so welcoming and happy we instantly felt better. Someone appeared from nowhere to help us with our bags and as we walked in there was a very friendly greater at the door ready to help us with anything we needed. The staff at the desk was also very experienced and helpful, rectifying a glitch in our Marriott Rewards with ease and professionalism. Our room was clean and as we expected, small but good use of space. They have tablets in the lobby that you can use to look up information about DC and the staff was very knowledgeable and willing to help. They provided us with maps, recommendations and advice. We were able to walk to the Lincoln Memorial and the White House with ease but there was also a bus line right around the corner. The coffee shop in the Lobby serves Illy freshly ground and that was a nice treat in the morning. Great Chinese restaurant across the street, CVS, Starbucks, and several other nice restaurants within a block or two. We were here with our Team for a tournament at the convention center and the staff accommodated all of us very well.
I would definitely stay again.

Hotel is centrally located in downtown Washington DC. It is only about 10 blocks from AmTrak Union Station. You can catch the subway for two stops and get off at Gallery Chinatown. You can get a Subway farecard for $10 for multiple uses. Amtrak tickets are flexible. If you find yourself finish your meeting early, you can ask for an exchange of your ticket for an earlier train without penalty. You just have to ask for a new ticket at the Amtrack ticket counter.

The hotel is situated in center of town within walking distance from, Spy museum, Dupont Circle, Treasury Dept, National Mall and Chinatown. Chinatown is no longer the traditional Chinatown. You'll find a lot of different cuisines in Chinatown. There is a trendy fusion Asian restaurant called Ping Pong around the corner from Renaissance. It is a London based chain with only two stores in US both is in DC area.

Room Tip: reserve early. the place is always packed regardless of your status at Marriott

I was warmly greeted as I entered the lovely lobby- with a lively bar to the left and a small reception area to the right. I was checked in quickly and got a better view room simply by asking. The entire time from walking into the hotel and opening my room's door was maybe 5 minutes- nice! The room was small but well appointed, same for the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, flat panel TV had plenty of channels, heating worked well, and aveda bath products added a nice touch.

I love a hotel that's a quick walk to most of DC's attractions- did a great loop from hotel-white house-smithsonian's-monuments-hotel. There's also a whole foods a few blocks away which is a great option for EVERYTHING food. And yes, the hotel's near two Metro stops also.

I paid a mere $85 on Priceline and was thrilled with what they gave me. I'd search far and wide if I were paying $200+, and still consider this hotel, but for $85 I got a good room, in a 4 star hotel, located in a great neighborhood.

I'd be happy to come back.

My husband and I stayed in the hotel over the New Years Eve holiday. The hotel was VERY busy but every employee that we encountered was very helpful and friendly. We were a part of a large group of couples and everyone had a wonderful time. The location is great to walk to bars and restaurants. The package rate for the room included parking and breakfast for a great price. The only head ache we encountered was when it was time to leave and we had to wait for 45 minutes to have the valet bring us our car. Eventually we learned that we were not even in the queue because of a mistake on the attendant's part. It was quickly corrected and we were out of there shortly after that. Other people were not so lucky.

Overall it was a great hotel in a GREAT location. We'd stay again.
