It was a great Sunday after noon the restaurant not very busy , we were welcome by George Car the manager. He offered us small carafe of wine compliments of the owner MR Pete, my wife order the lamb chops and I got the lamb Kapama and special Greek salad for two. the food was delicious as was the desert the price very modest . Am sure this is the only good Greek restaurant in the Washington area for your money !!!! don't forget to visit the bar for great drinks Billy Moschonas <Kolitsani>

As I said in an earlier review, we come here almost every time we go to DC. We always have
the fried zucchini as an appetizer and it was great as usual. Two of our friends are locals and the restaurant never says anything about them sharing a main ( it is too much for one) and they are great with dividing up the bill so that we all can pay our share with credit cards. The last time here I had a lamb special dish that was just yummy- very greek and old fashioned. I have also had the souvlaki, which is wonderful, and the gyro salad, which is not only cheap but very good.

Well, my girlfriend and I weren't expecting much stopping in at the Parthenon tonight before a movie. It's a casual neighborhood restaurant, not super fancy and not much to look at from out front. But wow, weren't we surprised.

To start with the place was clean, the tables done up nicely and the room cozy...little crowded, but not too much. Our host was courteous and welcoming, out water glasses filled-up immediately by a polite young man, and our waiter who professed to be from Greece was helpful from start to finish...recommending entrees, salads, wine and dessert. Service was quick.

The food was fantastic. We split a large Horiatiki Salad which was more than ample for two and tasted fresh and appetizing. The bread was good, not great, but good. My girlfriend had Xiphias Souvlaki (swordfish) and I had Paidakia Tis Skaras (lamb chops), were great. For dessert we had Baklava and Galakto Bouriko, both were obviously homemade and divine.

That said, we eat a lot of Greek and Mediterranean food, and have been to Greece just last year. This place is great and well worth the visit. We will return.

This restaurant made me wish I lived in DC. Better than many Greek restaurants in Athens, not to mention Toronto. A lot of choice, well prepared food, huge portions.
