Description: Located in the heart of Georgetown, il Canale offers the most authentic Neapolitan pizza in DC, thin-crust made by our Italian pizzaiolos cooked in a wood-fired oven imported directly from Italy. The kitchen offers a menu that brings our native country to your table with every selection-antipasti, pastas, seafood, meat, fresh Bufala mozzarella from Italy, and so much more. The attractive blue-lit, full bar specializes in carefully selected Italian wines. In warm weather, dine alfresco at the sidewalk tables or on the roof-top terrazza overlooking the Georgetown scene. Be sure to check out our lunch menu, featuring three delicious new paninis made with our fresh bread baked instantly in our wood fire brick oven and four new pasta items. Our happy hour, from 4-6 pm Monday-Friday, features not only reduced wine, beer, and Italian aperitivi, but also amazing homemade items for extremely reasonable prices! (Happy Hour restricted to bar area). Wheelchair accessible. GlutenFree options are available

Three of us went here for dinner and ordered three entrees. All three were huge and all three were tasty. The calzone was especially good and so was the seafood spaghetti. The service was friendly and prompt. Not inexpensive but nothing in DC is.

Terrible experience. Pizzas were laden with low quality, greasy cheese. It was so bad we each ate one piece of our pizzas and when the manager offered to remake mine I refused--couldn't stomach another bit of it. We had years ago had lovely dinners so I am very sad to see this place deteriorate. Cannot recommend and will not return.

If you are in Georgetown make time for this place. The spaghetti vongole is first class and the pizzas were very tasty. Not cheap but worth it. Tables on the roof terrace are lovely.

Don't get me wrong, it was good, but not great. There were tons of people waiting so the crowds and the reviews made me think this place must be da bomb. Well, it's not. It is good and if you come here just know know that the other reviews are over exaggerated. So, we had the Diavola (spicy salami pizza) and the scialatielli al frutti di mare. Like I said, it wasn't bad, but nothing spectacular. It must be the place to go cause it was busy the entire time we were there and as we were leaving around 9pm, people were still waiting for tables.

Ok place for lunch - they had a lady handing out pizza samples to passerby's. Pizza margherita was good but Gnocchi was overdone. Service was fast and it felt good to get out from the heat into an air conditioned environment.
