A great restaurant with lots of history. We had a delicious meal that included one of their homemade pasta. I definitely recommend! Also fantastic Kale Caesar salad. The service is great. Very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We had a problem with my husband’s dish and it was handled within minutes. Just a solid place.

Despite several local moves over many years, this restaurant & it's 3 bars boast an interesting history and great decor. Great current location across from the Treasury Dept building and an easy walk from the White House. We enjoyed a mid-morning, weekday brunch from the menu in the main dining room. My smoked salmon omelet was delicious and my wife enjoyed traditional eggs benedict. Service was friendly and efficient. We would return again.

So crowded at entry but don't let that put you off. Without a reservation your best bet is sitting at bar. Go for it! Make sure you walk right around bar. There are more seats on other side near oyster prep area. Had an excellent bartender Michelle. Food is freshly prepared. Hummus starter was gorgeous. Bacon and cheese burger slightly less than well done so that was my only minor complaint. Husband had shrimp salad and loved every bite! I think you won't go wrong. Prices very reasonable for downtown and great service. Decor really stands out.
