During our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn, we ate here twice. The breakfast buffet was okay as far as selection but pricey. After staying in other HGI's and getting a continental breakfast with the room, we were disappointed that this location did not do the same. On our last night, we tried the happy hour for an early dinner. We were not impressed with either the service or the food.

Be
Better than most hotel restaurants with a lovely outdoor area in good weather. The inside dining is very close to the bar and can get noisy at happy hour.

At first glance, the attractive restaurant and outdoor dining area are welcoming and attractive. But...dried up and overlooked salmon one night and on the second night, two NY strips in a row ordered medium and poorly cooked--one dry and grisly and the other red and grisly. Both uneatable. They redid the salmon, and although a long wait to make it right, it was tasty. The corn chowder as a restaurant week first course, was filling and creamy with a bit of a nice "bite." Long waits between courses, even with few patrons. It's restaurant week in DC and this will be a less-than-desirable choice, should you be in the area or staying in the Hilton Garden Inn on First Street, Washington DC.

We chose this place solely based on location and convenience but it did not disappoint. Located inside the Hilton, the atmosphere is pleasant but nothing special. The food, was excellent. A corn chowder was well seasoned and flavorful. The shrimp and grits were excellent with light cheesy texture and large, perfectly cooked shrimp. I ordered a minted melon sorbet for dessert that was a bit more like ice cream than sorbet in texture but my friend gave the chocolate pecan pie solid thumbs up and he's from Texas where he was raised on pecan pies made from the pecans harvested from trees in the back yard.

My girlfriends and I recently had the opportunity to have a rooftop party at this venue. It was an amazing day in the city. The weather was great and the customer service was excellent including having the door held for us upon entry. The Fried Rappahannock Oysters were delicious. I am giving them a little lower rating because on the day of our visit July 26, 2015 they were out of the Morning Bread & Biscuits and that was disappointing considering brunch is typically only twice per week management should anticipate consumer needs and order goods accordingly especially since we had a reservation. Those in our party that partake of spirits loved the bottomless mimosas concept and felt the price was affordable. The atmosphere was very classy and the service exceptional overall a wonderful dining experience and is definitely a location worth visiting again.
