Lovely atmosphere. Delicious lunch. Bar is pricey but good wait staff. Very near top rated restaurants around the corner. Friendly staff. I had a computer problem and they worked with me to resolve. Highly recommend.

Stayed for four nights with two children (7&9). Handy for metro station but also walkable to National Mall and main sights. Hotel lobby area was beautiful and the bar served nice cocktails. We were upgraded to a room with balcony and courtyard view. Really great size bedroom with large bathroom, beds were super comfy with plenty of pillows, toiletries, robes provided. We didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on that, leisure centre was OK - we didn't use the gym, the pool was fine but not amazing. Staff were friendly, in particular Adem , the doorman who was really helpful and great with the kids. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Hotel is located in a very nice neighborhood. Amazing lobby, specious room, very clean and have everything guests might need. There is a metro station in a few blocks from Fairmont, but we were able to walk to famous DC attractions. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

We typically try to stay in Boutique hotels, but given some trouble we have with previous trips to DC, we decided to play it safe and stay at the Fairmont in Georgetown.

They were very accommodating and even though our room was not ready, they held our bags, so we could go explore. Once we got into our room we were very happy that we booked the Fairmont!

The room was clean (and I am a bit of a clean freak), the location is quiet, and the bedding was so very comfortable!

The concierge desk was very friendly and gave us their personal hangout spots, as we like to go to local spots vs touristy places.

The walk to the Metro was a bit further than I would have liked (I have a bad knee) but for the average person, it would have been fine.

We just wrapped up a stay at the Fairmont in DC. We'd stayed here years ago and remembered liking it so we opted to do so again for a few days this past weekend. Overall our stay was fine. It wasn't the best and it wasn't the worst. If we visit DC again we'd probably choose another hotel as this was decent but not remarkable in any way.

Highlights:
--The pretty lobby. There's been a renovation and the lobby looks nice
--The location is excellent just a short walk to Georgetown or the Metro Station, that's handy
--The beds are extremely comfortable
--Front desk staff were very nice and professional

Lowlights:
--Lot's of noise from the loud people in the room next door, I had to call the front desk to ask them to quiet these folks at 10PM as we had an early morning flight to catch and they were really yukking it up next door. Definitely need more insulation in the doors between the rooms.
--The ice machine was broken which was a minor annoyance.
--The pool closure times were different than the concierge was stating which frustrated our children. On stopping down the last night to use the pool I was sort of grateful as there were about 20 people in it (yuck) and the whirlpool had an enormous amount of foam and brown crud on the foam (extra yuck) so maybe it was good we didn't swim one more time! Not swimming saved us a trip to the dermatologist I'd say
--And the view from our room was the classic over-a-dumpster-into-an-alley view.
--And the bikes that are supposedly borrow-able were not available. We asked each day The concierge actually told me she thinks the city is not great for biking and that they wait till the last possible moment to put out the bikes. We happened to have gorgeous weather this past weekend so that was a real disappointment.

Would we hurry back to the Fairmont? Probably not. Nevertheless the hotel is basically nice enough but there are likely better options in the area.

Room tip: Ask for a view of the courtyard for quiet and to avoid the alley view rooms like the one we received.

Dear Thegoodegg,

Thank you for taking the time to write about your recent stay with us. We appreciate that you noted the highlights along with the lowlights.
It sounds as though we were not at our best during your visit. Apologies for the noisy neighbors. We are taking all of our comments very seriously and are looking into each one. What you experienced is not our normally excellent service. If you decide to give us another chance, please contact me directly.
