Stayed here on a family vacation to DC.

Location:
Hotel is convenient to the Metro which makes it easy to go anywhere within the city. The immediate neighborhood is actively under construction, but it seems to be an "up and coming" neighborhood with plenty of places to grab a light breakfast or a quick snack. The supermarket was great with plenty of takeout choices. If you want a more substantial meal, you'll need to hop on the metro.

Hotel:
Staff was friendly and rooms were new and clean. We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant 1 day. Typical buffet with plenty of choices. Nothing to write home about and a little expensive. We found the nearby coffee shop to be a better option!

All in all, the hotel was a good value for the price and a good place to stay as long as you don't mind riding the metro everywhere. I would stay there again!

We arrived early and they did not have a room ready. We went and had lunch as they told us a room would be ready in 20-30 minutes. 1-1/2 hours later we finally got a room. When we had originally tried to check in another family was checking in and they were given a bunch of information of things to do and how to get around. When we checked in we were given our key and when we asked for recommendations they told us we could look at the map.

Our room was nice and had plenty of room for the 4 of us. It was very quiet, we had a large high school music group staying in the same hotel and never heard any noise at all. The beds were very comfortable and we were able to control the heat setting in our room.

The only problem that we had was that we asked for 4 towels numerous times during our stay and were never given 4 towels, finally tracked down a cleaning person one day and got some extra towels. Called the front desk numerous times and were told they would send someone right up with extra towels!

The front desk staff is a hit and miss. We had a couple of really nice people that helped us and a couple that seemed like we were asking too much of them to answer a question or help us.

There is a nice deli next to the hotel and a neighborhood grocery store on the other side. We were only a block away from the metro so made getting around really easy.

I would recommend this hotel especially for the great location and the price.

There are two Hilton Garden Inn's in Washington DC, please choose this one as your destination. Firstly upon check in we were upgraded as we are on our honeymoon, when we entered the room we had wine and chocs on our bed. Checking in was a breeze and Latoya at the front desk was awesome. The rooms are so clean and new..unlike other Hilton properties, the bar staff great and a great restaurant the watershed located within the hotel. This hotel and staff well exceeded our expectations, the food and facilities are ten out of ten. I cannot find a fault with our stay and so far, maybe because of the hotel and staff, Washington DC has been our favourite destination throughout our honeymoon. Thank you Latoya and the other staff that made our 2 night stay a vacation to remember.

It was a sad time for our family when we traveled to DC, but the Hotel staff was friendly and made us feel welcome and at home. It was quiet, nice, and friendly. Even the other guests were enjoyable, easy-going, and helpful. Also, there was a Grocery Store right next to the Hotel called Harris Teeter and everyday for dinner we would go there and get things from there warm food bars such as: the wing bar, salad bar, chinese food bar. They also had a breakfast bar in the morning as well. Another good food place close by was Potbelly, they had delicious sandwiches, soups, sodas, and homemade cookies. We enjoyed our stay and if we every venture back to Washing, D.C. we"d stay here again.

We were not as excited with hotel as other reviewers. The hotel is new, clean and modern but it was really nothing special. The location is just far enough that you have to take the Metro or Taxi to see the sights at Capitol Hill and the National Mall. They advertise rooms with a view of the Capitol but they all have King beds so if you need 2 Queens you get to look at an office building (or rather, they get to look at you). Don't be fooled by a Cathedral View because that is also a view of an office building. There are a couple casual food places next door for sandwiches or gyros which were decent but no real restaurants. Our housekeeping was sub-par. The toilet, soap dish and bathroom floor was cleaned only every 3 days or so. They never left us enough bath towels or replenished the shampoo so we had to call down for these things most nights. The restaurant is operated seperately from the hotel and, even though we pre-paid for breakfast for 4 people, the restaurant manager gave us a hard time 3 out of 5 mornings about charging for the kids. Also, the pool was really small and barely heated but they used so much chlorine that you could smell it all the way to the elevator. My sone got a rash from it.

The staff was friendly and, like I said, the hotel was OK, but just OK. If we return to DC,next time, I will look for a place closer to the sights.

Hello,

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on your stay. I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy our location. We are in a brand new neighborhood directly on the red line metro, which makes our hotel very accessible to all of the sights the city has to offer. Also, I am sorry that you experienced challenges with housekeeping. Rest assured that I have followed up with the department manager to ensure we are operating at the highest level at all times. I do hope that you will consider staying with us again.
