We enjoyed this restaurant so much during our recent DC trip that we went there twice! We found it on Trip Advisor and our hotel concierge confirmed it as a great choice. It's much larger than it appears from the street due to the building's depth. Wonderful selection of fresh comfort food in informal surroundings. Very friendly staff. Early dinner dining specials before 6 PM. Onsite bakery producing sinfully delicious pies and their trademark pop tarts. Also enticing selection of malts and milkshakes. Take advantage of calling ahead to get your name on the list although no formal reservations accepted. Good food and fun too.

I met freinds for here for the experience and for drinks. I ordered the Bananas Foster "adult milkshake," and let me just say that it was superb! The service was so so, but the atmosphere and quality was top notch. Will definitely be back to try the food!

It was crowded but they sat us quickly and the service was fast and friendly. The burgers were great and the kid’s meals were good and the pancake decoration was picture worthy. For quality of food the price was good.

Our family had been to Ted’s before for lunch but wanted to return for breakfast. I am so glad we did!! The same wonderful service and excellent food!
I ordered biscuits and gravy and they were the best I have ever had hands down! Other members of the family ordered the breakfast plates that included standard fare of eggs, bacon, hash browns etc..and all was very good. A fun surprise was they have homemade pop tarts!! We ordered one to share and absolutely loved it!! We will definitely return to Ted’s next time we are in D.C. The only hard decision will be if we will go for lunch or dinner??

Ted's is somehow very cool and yet not at all stuffy. I mean, when the first thing you see is the pastry case with handmade pop tarts (aka Ted's Tarts) complete with festive sprinkles, you know it's not your average breakfast joint. But yet, it does do typical breakfast food very well and doesn't feel froofy, although it's a little pricey. Handmade pop tarts are labor intensive to make, but an omelet? Not so much that it should cost a mint. But the place is just so doggone cool and sleek in a deco sort of way that the experience still makes it seem like you're getting your money's worth, if that makes sense.
