I booked this hotel at short notice for a business trip via my company. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. Its website starkly misrepresents the place. It is old and tired with chipped away doorframes and wallpaper coming off the walls, and a carpet that had seen happier times. Bed was uncomfortable too, and the mattress was so worn out that its springs were creaking noisily at the slightest move. The hotel claims on its website that is has free WiFi, but this is available only in the lobby area, and even there it does only work occasionally, and in my case did not work at all despite attempting to use it several times during my two nights of stay. There is no WiFi in the rooms, so if you are planning to do a quick bit of work before going to bed or chat with family back home on the other side of the Atlantic, forget it! Check-in was chaotic, too, although the gentleman at the front desk was lovely. Other members of staff were rather less attentive, however, and it felt that the general attitude of the hotel management is that if you are a guest with a problem or a query you can go suck it.
The room was impeccably clean, though, but this could not make up for the overall depressing experience.More
