If there were a 6 diamond rating, the St. Regis would have it. In no other hotel can a guest feel so comfortable and secure that every need will be met. A fabulous building, beautifully maintained and up to date with all of the features a business or leisure traveler may require, served by the most attentive, well trained and dedicated staff in this or any big city hotel. I have a great deal on my mind when I travel. To be able to rely on great accommodation and this terrific staff lifts a huge burden off of me and makes me much more effective at my job. Many thanks for the opportunity to express my appreciation.

Room Tip: Call ahead and tell the staff what you want. They are the best and will do everything to accommodat...

The concierge was exceptionally helpful. I needed some items at 6:30 am at my room and did not realize it until 11pm the night before. Everything was there at precisely 6:30am. No fuss.

Upon arrival, everyone was nice and room is very nice.
Not a five star hotel, service is not on par with St Regis brand
We opened the door each time we entered or exited
At breakfast, tables were not cleared, and at 10:30am, food tasted as if it was cooked earlier in the day. Waiter was attentive, and offered Canadian bacon when it was clear bacon was unedible(we did not ask, just left it uneaten)
Lobby bathrooms downstairs, dead fly on the sill at the bar, bar windows need cleaning.
Great location, clean room, nicely remodeled bathrooms( only shower, no tub)

I stayed here for a business trip and had a terrific time. Service is excellent as usual for a St. Regis. Absolutely spotless rooms, beds are very comfortable, little details are taken care of (soft music playing when you enter). The ground floor lobby room is amazing too. Beautiful decor--feels like you are in a very special place.

I give it four stars because the property is aging slightly and the rooms (esp. bathroom - though not the shower/tub, which is spacious) feel slightly cramped. Nothing that would be a real problem for any guest, but for a premium hotel with premium price, you have super high expectations.

For instance:
- some wear and tear around the elevator banks
- dated bathroom style and decor
- shower spray head not adjustable
- tv screen is somewhat small (maybe 30 inches?)...older LG design, much of the viewable area is speakers and tv frame
- dated tile

Again a great hotel and one I will stay in again probably, but some details that keep me from giving it full score

Note: profile incorrectly lists me as from DC, which is where we stayed not where we live. First review, sorry. We live on west coast. Husband and I spent a wonderful Sat and Sun night here this past weekend. I had a certificate for a two night stay from an event I attended and management kindly extended the expiration date so that we could fit it in to a complicated schedule. Every person we dealt with, through email and on site, went out of their way to be helpful and accomodting. Thank you to Ammar and staff. Norberto was especially gracious, making sure we were happy with our room and checking on us throughout our stay. We were gone all day Sunday at museums and did not return until late after dinner, but Norberto came out from behind the desk to greet us and make sure we were happy with everything, making this feel like an intimate boutique rather than a chain. The room, an Astor suite, was spacious and lovely. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great, two of my top priorities. As this was a leisure weekend and we did not need garment pressing or unpacking assistance, we did not take full advantage of the butler service other than morning tea. The concierge was very helpful with information about exhibits and other suggestions, including suggesting an alternative walking route due to a major cycling event. If you like an old world European style elegance and gracious service this is a great option in DC.
