This place has a nice view and the wooden decorated lobby is really nice. Currently they are constructing new rooms
The problem with this place is that it's employees looks like do not what to work. They have a beer drinker monkey that is supposed to be in exhibition until 5:00 pm every day but between 4:00 and 4:30 the employees put him away.
It's appears like they are praying to go home early.

This budget Hotel is off the beaten path and taxi fares tends to add up very quickly if you have the need to frequent the city of Holguin: $20 roundtrip
Bare this in mind before booking.

To be quite honest there is nothing aesthetically mind blowing about the Hotel and its decor but the views are stunning as the hotel is perched on a very steep hill and is surrounded by very lush and extremely beautiful Vegatation.
The rooms are adequate and the pool is refreshing but fills up on the weekend with locals who get extremely loud and obnoxious after a few Cristal Beers.
The Beer drinking Donkey is an attraction and rumor has it that this is the third donkey in 5 years, the last two died unexpectedly, i wonder why.

The food is standard Cuban fare:
Arroz congri (Rice and Beans), Cerdo (Pork) , Pollo (Chicken) and Vegetables.
Probably would stay here again if i had a rent a car or equivalent.

While visiting Cuba one year, some Cuban friends recommended seeing this donkey that drinks at one of the bars. To our surprise, we had not heard of this before so we had agreed to check it out.

There was no disappointment in the trip. To see the donkey drink a beer you have to purchase the beer but this is a very small fee to pay - 1cuc peso - to watch the donkey drink.

The hotel is very nice and the view that we could see from outside looked amazing as it displayed one of the beautiful mountain scapes.

We stayed the first and last night of a road trip around Eastern Cuba. The views from the grounds, which are stunning, are excellent. The gardeners/housekeeping staff are hard working, don't expect over friendly staff on reception, you are unlikely to get that outside of the all inclusive resorts. The rooms are clean and fairly spacious. The hotel, especially the pool, is used a lot by locals - Cubans are not quiet. The restaurant experience was variable and seemed to depend on the mood of the staff as to what was available. Well worth the stay for the views, but remember this is Cuba. Not a average rating but not quite very good either.
