On arrival we were met by a not over helpful host, and we were shown to a uint down many garden steps alongside trees and gardens. It had been raining and was very wet and not pleasant. I questioned arriving home that night in the dark and was informed to put the outside light of the unit on!! When we got home that night there was a bright security light shinning down the path which was perfect. Why wasn't I told that? Inside unit basic but clean. There were only 2 towels for 2 of us, the basin in the bathroom was a tiny skinny one that you see in small ensuites and we couldn't even clean our teeth in it so was forced to use the kitchen sink. No compendium in room, but a 3 page photocopied sheets stapled together. We read we had to wash our own dishes each day or a cleaning charge could be incurred!! Really ??????? Wouldn't recommend as this was not a cheap motel, and don't think it was value for money at all. Nowhere does it say that some units are down a hill and not an easy climb up or down. Lucky we were not old with heavy suitcases to lug down. There was also a bad ant problem in the kitchen there were thousands running up and down the walls.

Room tip: Make sure you ask for a room up where you park your car.

Purchased premium pack, even though hospitality is alright, but room is definitely not premium.
4 beds only 1 bedside table!
No handwash!
I saw ants in the room!!
Room is bit cold even when heaters were on! (maximum)
Quite disappointed!

To the unnamed Reviewer:
1. Can you please check which Midway Motel or accommodation you stayed as it was not Midway Motel Waiheke Island!
2. We do not have such a thing as a ‘premium pack’ and do not use the word ‘premium’ anywhere in our accommodation listings.
3. All our units have adequate heating, with one or two heaters in each, and all beds have electric blankets. Additional blankets/quilts are also available.
4. All beds have one or two bedside tables and other chairs as well.
If you require further information we would be more than happy to discuss with you.

Never been to Waiheke Island before. Checking in advised the person I have a reservation and to his response just did some hand gestures and I advised him my name and to his response "I'm not a mind reader I don't no everyone's names, I have a lot of reservations this weekend". Not a good start. Refrigerator door did not close, blinds did not shut properly. Not only was my 5 year old bitten all over his face by mosquitos, which they should state on their website as obviously we did not anticipate mosquitos and did not come prepared, he then has the nerve to call at approximately 10.13am to state he will be charging a cleaning fee as we left the place in a mess, knowing full well we do not reside in Waiheke Island and had already left to catch our ferry. If you refer to the mattress from the room being left in the lounge because we had to sleep near out little boy to constantly check him during the night so he won't get bitten even more from the mosquitos and the bin overflowing because it's not big enough to put any type of rubbish e.g containers from Thai restaurant for our dinner, but paper, then that is ridiculous. Not only is your customer service zero to none, to advise us to return further more is ridiculous. If I wanted to, I would post a photo of the mosquito bites all over my child's face, neck and hands, however not worth the effort.

Your comments have only serve to slam your own actions:
You didn’t give your name when you arrived to check in so we needed to ask you.
The fridge didn’t close because you had left the door ajar and it was so iced up it could not be closed.
There are 2 or 3 plug in insect repellents and fly spray in all Units if required.
The queen bed was moved from the bedroom into the lounge and left on the floor.
There was food, food packets and dishes left in the lounge and on the kitchen bench.
There was furniture from inside left on the deck outside and bottles and rubbish left on the table outside.
We think most people would consider all of these issues would constitute a Unit left in an unacceptable manner which is why we needed to contact you.
The Unit was serviced daily during your stay and you made no comment to our housekeeping staff about any problems or came to reception to discuss them.
The key has still not been returned despite a request by email which only resulted in insulting and abusive replies from you.
We find your attitude disappointing.

We flew in from Perth Australia and only stayed the one night for a Wake at the RSA Hall which was across the road - This accommodation was perfect for 3 Adults & one 6 year old- the accommodation was 2 doubles & 2 singles beds. There was a full kitchen, TV Set, balcony, lounge & dining room combined plus a hot water cupboard. We all walked to Countdown which we found a lot cheaper than 4Square in Oneroa. Thank you to Julie for finding my lost Credit Card & we had a very comfortable stay.

Room tip: Very quite location - our Unit was above the Motel Office

Not very friendly or welcoming owners
Bed was hard as a rock, spa was out
Of order but looked grubby so wouldn't
Have used it... Expensive for such basic
Accommodation, if I was staying longer
Would move to another place with
Better beds this place only good for
One nite ...
