After a tiring and weary red eye flight, what one needs is get to room where you can feel at ease and at home to recharge for the long awaited holiday. At Danum house you don’t only get a room but a house that makes you feel so comfortable and homely. Hosts Martin and Jenny welcome you like a friend and have everything to offer when you need advice or simply to chat about life in WA. Great place for family w kids especially as the house gives all the space you need and a bountiful lemon tree in the tranquil garden nested in a lovely neighbourhood.

What a gem. This beautifully restored B&B is located in a leafy street within walking distance to the heart of Fremantle. Rooms are spacious, comfy and clean. The lovely kitchen is huge with all the mod cons you could need. Host Martin and Jenny are very helpful and accommodating.
We loved our stay here and will certainly be back again soon

The owners have decided to convert one of the three bedrooms into a kitchen/diner/sitting room and look to short term let the two remaining bedrooms (one ensuite, one with a bathroom down the hall) together with it instead of B&Bing each room seperately.
If this arrangement works for you, book it, because the property is genuinely lovely. Real period charm, and very high levels of comfort and finish, including in the new kitchen area. The location is excellent, with all the main attrractions of South Fremantle within easy walk.
If we stay in Fremantle again, we will certainly return.

We stayed at the Emu room.

Very comfortable, clean and homely.
The bed is a comfortable four poster and has a romantic charm to it.
Air conditioning works well both for cooling and heating.
Room comes with large LCD TV, coffee and tea making facilities, iron and board and free internet that is pretty fast or your holiday photo uploads.

Our room did not have a joint bathroom but every room had its own toilet exclusive for your family use (one of the rooms, Kookaburra had its own toilet).
Clean and spacious with regular toilet amenities provided.

Martin, our host is very hospitable and friendly.
I needed an extra bed for my son and it was provided in short notice.
He also checked in on us daily to see if we needed anything at all.

Breakfast was substantial though it was advertised as Continental included juice, yoghurt, muesli, cereal, cheese, bread, muffin, croissant and any other requests you might have on a checklist for the number of people you have in your group.
This was stocked every evening before the next day. We ticked less items for the second morning because we could not finish what they provided the first one.

We packed our breakfast for our day trips but you can enjoy yours in the lovely garden neatly decorated with rose bushes, orange and lemon trees with real fruit hanging from them (something of an amazement for us city folk).

Danum House is 8 minutes by car from tourist attractions in Fremantle the nearest being Fremantle Prison 5 minutes walk.

I recommend this place for families traveling together who can book the whole house of 3 rooms. Couples looking for a romantic getaway will enjoy the beautiful home and its settings too.

Martin, Jenny and their son Duncan are wonderful people and we look forward to staying with them again soon.

Come over and spend a couple of days with them, I guarantee your stay.

Room Tip: Choose the Kookaburra room if you prefer a toilet attached.

Thanks - hope to see you again one day, but note your bedroom is now a lounge/kitchen/dining room and we are letting as a two bedroom, two bathroom, self catered apartment, which I think you will find even more comfortable.
