The main centre of Fremantle is comprised of 19th century buildings and my friend and I felt privileged to stay lodge in a perfectly preserved part of history. We stayed in the Dudley room and while it was compact (as stated online- just don't bring your big luggage bags!), there was plenty of relaxing space in the establishment to make up for it. It was more private than expected with the shared bathways (which were gorgeous) living spaces and we hardly saw a soul. Breakfast was a nice surprise with gluten-free museli available and fresh juice. The setting was immaculate, incredibly romantic and i'd highly recommend it if you're looking for a romantic getaway and appreciate colonial and historical styling. While the service may have seemed non-existent, realistically everything was set out very well to allow a relatively private experience. Peter, the owner was lovely, very helpful and not too imposing. Definitely a place i'd come back to.
