This hotel is rustic. And I mean this in a great way. Staff were fantastic. The hotel was charming. You are right in the middle of everything you would want to see. The valley gorgeous. The mountains stunning. Waterfalls, cows, beautiful meadows, woods, etc. etc. I could go on and on. Such a scenic place. The hotel is rustic, as I have said. Functional and tight, but fits right in. Beds are cozy so go with someone you love!

Room Tip: I believe all the views are great.

We could not be more happy with staying at the hotel Staubbach. I would recommend it to anyone. It has the most amazing location and although it is rated as a two star hotel, I would give it a five star rating, for location and for the exceptional staff that works there. We stayed in a budget room, but we looked right out on one of the 72 waterfalls in the region. At night, all we could hear was the cow bells and the waterfall and it felt magical. The staff were so friendly and always greeted us whenever we left and came back. They were so helpful with suggestions for dinner and hikes. Thank you so much for making our honeymoon so special! If we came back to Lauderbrennen, we have no doubt we would stay there.

Room Tip: Even the budget room was small but had great views of the waterfall!

Booked a budget room that was clean and adequate. Shared bath was the smallest of any previously encountered, but was in good condition and clean. The staff was the bright spot in the stay. To a person, they were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The location of the property was prime for a very nice view of the Staubbach Waterfall and toward the end of the valley.

Room Tip: Best view would be toward the waterfall

We were greeted with a warm welcome and offered coffee and tea until our room was ready. The front desk staff were very helpful making suggestions since we had a couple rainy days. The rooms were comfortable and modern. The balcony view was amazing and we enjoyed waking up to the waterfall view. There were lots of choices for breakfast. The church bell does ring every 15 min but it didn't annoy us. Bring ear plugs if you are sensitive to noise. We would definitely book again.

Hotel Staubbach is a creaky old chalet (as Rick Steves describes it) that is comfortable, clean and in the most spectacular location. It looks down the stunning Lauterbrunnen Valley, and faces the Staubbach Falls (lit up at night) which tumbles down the sheer cliff face. The hotel staff are wonderful, helpful, and friendly. The hiking in the area is spectacular, and is easily accessed by the gondolas. There is also a little cog train to take you up one side of the valley where you might get a stunning view of the Jungfrau.
