Our room was extremely small, this was the only drawback, but we only had a short stay so it did not matter. Due to the heatwave even the aircon could not cool the room properly, but the hotel hadplaced a fan in the room and this was a great help. The hotel is close to the railway station, the bus station where the airport bus stops and 5 minutes walk fro the old city. Very good beds. Decent breakfast. Good price. Nice and polite staff.

I would highly recommend to stay in this hotel when you visit Riga. Good location, good service, good staff. There is a parking place near hotel. It’s nice to get welcome drink from hotel. Breakfast was excellent!

Opera hotel & spa is conviniently located in the center, opposite Stockmann. Old building, nice design, but now when very hot summer, hotels technology where not upto spec. Air condition did not work, even mentioned in hotel web site, but instead there was fan in room. naturally rotating same hot air does not make room cooler :-( . Breakfast was nice and ok, even slightly "warm" due to hot weather. (front desk told me that some "renovation to a/c under works" so for future maybe a/c works). otherwise good.

If you are eager to explore Riga I would really recommend the Opera Hotel & Spa on Rainas Street.
I had visited Riga in 2013 for the festival & our family stayed at an excellent hotel. This year I came alone and booked this hotel without any information on it because rooms were hard to find months ahead of the Festival. Did I every get lucky? My room was well furnished, comfortable & always kept fresh. In addition to the bar and dining room there were three different areas in front for relaxing with friends - old & new.
The reception desk staff were professional and efficient, always eager to make your stay perfect. The waitstaff were very attentive and made dining a delight. All staff are multilingual. I did not use the Spa facilities because I was too busy experiencing Riga, but I'm sure it is pampering.
From the hotel you can walk to many places like Old Town, the Opera House with the canal and park, The Freedom Monument, The Riga Market, The Occupation Museum (temporarily relocated ton Rainas), The KGB Building, Vermanes Park & much more. There is a modern department tore within sight for many things such as a converter adapter when you forgot yours.
When I returned after two weeks of travel to the Opera Hotel & Spa for one night it felt like coming home.

Nice central hotel just a few minutes fron old town. We where able to park just in front of the hotel. Nice breakfast. Very nice top floor room, with windows facing the sky. We did not use the possibility to visit the spa.
