I stayed here one night for business, I arrived a little late but the desk staff were helpful and accommodating. The room was amazing with a really high ceiling. The hotel is old but well maintained, with lots of character. Two big pluses were a thermostat that worked and room lighting that did not require a degree in electrical engineering to operate. The breakfast was tasty and varied. The hotel location is very good, right near the centre of the old town. Definitely worth a stay if in Tallinn.

Barons has an excellent location, in the centre of Tallinn, and literally two minutes from the main square. It is close to all the great bars and restaurants Tallinn has to offer. It has an old-world feel to it, with a quirky original lift ,which was great fun to ride in. Staff were really helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was varied, with cereal choices, fruit, cold meats, cheeses and hot options. The breads were fantastic. Our room was spacious and light, but most welcome was the underfloor heating in the ensuite, as it was a very cold five day period in early Spring when we visited. Highly recommend, if you like character over glitz!

Old fashioned charming hotel in the very centre of an Old Town Tallinn. Literally 1 minute walking to the main square of the city (Town Hall Square). Very good and various breakfast. Wifi is good too. Rooms a bit old but beds are very comfortable.

Walking into the lobby was like entering a time machine taking you back to a time where hotels were warm and welcoming, rather than glass and electronica blaring. I stayed on the 4th floor (one of the floors which had the original residences) and had a lovely view of the city. Comfortable bed and wonderful breakfast buffet (open until 11:00) made the stay even better. If I had a complaint, it would be the level of noise coming from the hostel across the street. At 04:30, several loud, drunk men decided they needed to have a brawl. Other than that one blip, it was a perfect stay. When I return to Tallinn, I will definitely book this hotel again.

Room tip: The fifth floor has the best views. Try to get a suite.

Although our 2nd floor room was long and narrow, it was sufficient - and right across the hall from two large bank vaults. HOW the construction crew got them up there in the 20's I'll never know, but it added to the mystique and fun. Great breakfast just down the hall. Stayed 4 nights for a conference. Would stay again - GREAT location.
