Not very far but worth going up as at the top you can then visit a church with a viewing platform on the roof. Costs 70 cents to go up, you simply jump on a pay at the top.

This is the oldest Funicular in Lithuania, built 1931. Ride climbs 142 meters (486ft), so I can highly recommend the ride, at least downward to easy pain on your knees. Tickets are sold only at upper station, so you pay upon exit upward and pay on entrance downward. You combine the visit to the Christ's Resurrection church, which is located on top of the hill. Carriage is wooden, so are the benches.
The lower station address is V. Putvinskio g. 22 (corner of A. Mickevičiaus g.)
Highly recommend.

This Funicular goes up at 50 cent each to Christ's Resurrection church. Instead of walking up hill. The funicular is very old and works so well. The interior is just as beautiful all wooden seat. One would go down and the other go up. A lovely ride on the historic funicular.

I like funiculars and this one was fun too. They are like taken from the story and time long left behind and bring back impressions of those old days we could not witness. Still if you are not sentimental in this way it is just a convenient way to move up/ down the little hill
