A great castle located at the top of the city, you can see it from far.
There is a museum inside it too

Beautiful location, overlooking the whole Pest side. Filled with history, looks to see and do. Well worth a few hours trip.

Up close the exterior has lots of wear and tear especially the dome but somehow it adds to the character of this place.

The views from this area is beautiful -you can see the chain bridge , the Clark Adams square, Hungarian Parliament in the pest side.
Take the picture of the Turul bird near the entrance part and the Dome.
The easiest and comfortable way to come here is by the funiculars. We took the bus 16 from Clark Adam square and reached the Mathias church and then walked from there. We took the stairs to come down and an elevator to come to the street level.

There were coin operated toilets 150 HUF )near the lifts

The only reason why I am giving this place an average rating is that we went to the castle thinking it was free to go and see the exhibition. We were wrong but didn't want to pay for to see the place because we would have to stay on to make it worthwhile. We were rushing to the market but I will be prepared next time if I do go back. The views from the Castle down to to the city is spectacular and we came down using an old-fashioned elevator. Great place to visit for taking in the views.
