Owner description: Built during the 19th century for the Hungarian Millennium celebrations, this mock bastion features pointed towers and turrets, reminiscent of the fairytale castles in Disney World.

We got a tour bus transport cart up to the Bastion. The town at the top is beautiful and then you get to the Bastion....It is stunningly pretty architecture, like a fairytale castle! You can freely walk along the castellations/wall taking some fab photos of the Pest side of the Danube and of the river itself. An interesting place.

But, you have to pay to go on the turret. Really? Everything is a tourist trap here. Nevertheless, it’s a beautiful location walking distance from the castle. The church is also interested, but again, you have to pay.

Interesting outdoor concrete structure and great place to walk around this area. I would pick a nice day to visit. Fantastic view and great place to take pictures of the Danube and in particular the Pest side (including their parliament building) of Budapest along the edge of the place. The Mathias Church is close by, so I recommend you take a look at it also.

Another stunning building in the old town, could spend an hour or two alone just wandering, viewing and sitting in the bastion. Local buskers and artists frequent the area but are interesting rather than a nuisance.
