I visited on a very busy Good Friday, although heaving with people, I enjoyed the atmosphere of the area. I would love to have revisited though early in the morning to take photos without too many people. Beautiful areas affording some stunning views over to Pest

We went to see the Fisherman's bastion at the same time as visiting Saint Matthias church. We brought tickets to both. To be honest I wasn't sure what the Fisherman's Bastion was, and when we got there I couldn't see any signs that explained what it actually was. (I asked the tour guide at the church and he more or less said it was a lookout tower) I would just describe it as a nice wall with turrets. You could walk along the wall, and there were lovely views. However if you are paying to go to the top inside St Matthias church, the view is much better, so wouldn't advise to book tickets for both.

We spent a whole morning in this area. Well worth the walk up or you can take the Funicular.

The views are fantastic and the church is stunning.

Such a beautiful place with amazing views of the city and has to be seen to be believed. There are shops there for refreshment and souveneirs. Was very hot in July but we also found some shade in a small area with trees adjacent.
