We stayed in the highest floor room (I think it is called 310) which was a large, clean room. There was only a window in the bathroom and bedroom, however, it was airy and light. Most rooms appear to have balconies but the upper floor room did not have one. There could have been more wardrobe space considering the room was so spacious. Good wifi. The ceiling in the bathroom was low in places so showering could be challenging if tall. Breakfast was nice with a selection of fruits, meats, cheeses, cereals, yogurts, fresh breads and pastries. There was also the option for cooked eggs. The coffee came from a machine. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are bikes to take free whenever you would like. It is a very quick walk to the lake and you could even see it from our room window. There is a car park for the hotel just opposite with plenty of spaces.
Overall it was a great holiday and a perfect place to stay when in Bled.

I visited the Penzion Mayer hotel with my husband and friends at the beginning of June and was very impressed with Lake Bled and the beautiful hotel. We were given a very warm welcome by the owner Dietmar. The room was very spacious and clean, the only down side was it had no tea or coffee provisions in the room. The whole hotel was very clean, friendly and the food was also lovely. The breakfast had a variety of food the main meals served in the restaurant was great, the restaurant sparkled. The hotel was also very well situated to most things although no matter where you go there's hills and steps. I will most definitely go back to Bled and Penzion Mayer, as one week was not quite enough. Although I mentioned no tea or coffee facilities, Tatiana, Dietmar's wife said I could use the kitchen anytime to make a cuppa. They are a lovely couple and very accommodating.

Follow signs to find it - our GPS struggled with the narrow lanes. Free parking. Beautiful garden and flowers outside, pleasing exterior mimics an alpine chalet. Inside is modern and very clean. Try some "Smarties" candy in the bowl at reception! Check in was quick and the staff had great advice and suggestions. Room was nice-sized with a balcony and large bathroom. We had a "double" bedroom, which means two twin-size beds pushed together and two twin-sized duvets which serve as top sheet, blanket and quilt, which is extremely common. I would prefer a single duvet over the whole as I get the twin-size all tangled since it isn't anchored. But that is my preference...I LOVE the duvet otherwise. Shower is a tub/shower combo, which is nice and there was plenty of room/shelving in the shower to put your stuff. Free WiFi was quick. Breakfast and breakfast staff were amazing. The woman was attentive and helpful and there was a huge buffet of all the expected foods: meats, cheeses, pastry, eggs, yogurt, spreads, beverages. Walk down the hill to the lake takes about 5 minutes - figure out the shortcut as we found it easier and quicker to come back up the hill that way. I think (it has been 2 weeks and a lot of other hotels!) you go past the neighboring large hotel (Hotel Golf) and follow the road down the hill ("long way") or just take a quick left and follow the Hotel Golf along the side of the building, across their terrace and then down a series of stairs. Ask at reception for clarification! Hotel was pretty quiet, but we did hear the garbage trucks early.

Reading through the recent reviews, I just want to say, what he said, what she said! So many others have written beautiful descriptions, and they are all true. We stayed 6 nights just a week ago, and loved being there. Dietmar and Tatjana were lovely hosts, helpful and kind. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We ate in the restaurant there most nights. The Daly menu is just 18€ for four courses of fresh, homemade food. Loved the asparagus soup! If you're feeling adventurous, they have a selection of bikes to borrow, as well as hiking poles, umbrellas, and other things you might need. Be sure to walk around the loop at the top of the hill. At one time this must have been where the rich had their summer homes, as there are several fancy old houses. We would happily go back!

Enjoyed two nights here, room was spacious and clean with a balcony and a small fridge. Good info. from the receptionist/cook, and we enjoyed borrowing the free bicycles to bike around the lake. Would stay here again.
