Never went inside. But it was sure a great cathedral only for the royal family back then. Lovely area, nice hill.

This is an incredible cathedral with a rich and interesting history. Take the time to go to mass here (even if you aren't Catholic) while you are iin Krakow.

Castle on a hill with Cathedral and palaces. You have to pay to enter museums inside the castle. Museums close at 5 pm.

Walking up the road leading into Wawel, you get the sense of the power that rested here for so long. Site of the Polish Kings for hundreds of years, you can tour their private apartments, see the treasury, and walk through the amazing armory. The church is filled with chapels and tombs commemorating great people in Polish history. Even the central plaza has history in the stone foundations left from previous buildings. A must for a visit to Krakow!

This Cathedral is located within the surrounds of Wawel Castle. As Cathedrals go yes it's very nice & again part of the experiences of visiting Krakow adding it's own charm. Having visited many around Europe without upsetting anyone I find them all very similar once inside. Not saying they aren't beautiful in they're own right but !

Thank hollgatt
