This Cathedral is located within the surrounds of Wawel Castle. As Cathedrals go yes it's very nice & again part of the experiences of visiting Krakow adding it's own charm. Having visited many around Europe without upsetting anyone I find them all very similar once inside. Not saying they aren't beautiful in they're own right but !

This is a classic Catholic Cathdral , s8milar to many across the world. It is modest in size as was built only for the nobility to use.
Worth a visit. Apparently the Wawel Castle is full of non original items from across the world so we gave that a miss

Before venturing to Wawel Cathedral, I highly recommend learning about its long history. What I found most amazing was he combination of different artistic and architectural styles as new rulers built additional side chapels over a period of centuries. From the outside, the Cathedral looks like a fun hodgepodge of all of these different elements. There are many former Polish rulers buried here, and you can see the tomb of some Polish saints, like Saint Stanislaus and St. Jadwiga. Don’t miss the relic of St. John Paul II’s blood, which is located on the altar of St. Stanislaus.

Most of the Cathedral is free to tour, but for an extra 12 PLN (about $3 or $4), you will also get to see some additional chapels, the crypt, and climb to the top of the bell tower to see the famous Sigismund Bell. If you have any interest in history, architecture, or churches at all, I would recommend the ticket.

Wawel can be very crowded, so plan your visit well. Also, consider attending mass in the cathedral. It is a different way of appreciating the way that this building continues to be a vibrant place of worship, which was its original purpose.

W a w e l Cathedral is packed with historical significance comma as well as breathtaking beauty. When walking up to the cathedral entrance one needs a ticket, which can be purchased directly behind you at the ticket office. The ticket allows you entrance to see the cathedral, as well as the Royal Crypt.
A tour with a guide is highly recommended as it will bring out the detail and the significance of the famous names intiered here. Brushing up on a brief history of Poland and its most famous Kings will enhance your experience. When visiting the cathedral allow at least a comfortable two hours to peruse through this Grande edifice. This Cathedral is Poland's version of England's Westminster Abbey. A virtual who's who of Polish history has been intiered here at the Cathedral. The cathedral is a compilation of hundreds of years of building with different architectural styles. The interior is magnificent, decorated with memorials and beautiful statuary. The cathedral is a must visit when in Krakow Poland.

This is the heart of the city, beside the river, lovely views etc.The self guided audio tour is excellent, plenty of info there. It also gets you to the top of the queue ! The only issue was that it was crammed full. They really needed to space the larger groups better & the museum isn’t really up to much. Enjoy
