We have a new favourite city, to add to Prague - Gdansk. The attraction is partly because of the lovely Gotyk House, the friendly, helpful staff and the beautiful Amber street it is located in. We could choose to have our breakfast in our room or in the small reception area. We were given a gift of Ginger cakes, we also had water and fruit in our room. A winner to return to!

Oldest house in Gdansk, in a lovely wee street which we are told is very popular during peak season. Was rather chilly while we were there so it wasn't busy at all which was perfect!! Great setting and half a minute walk to the center square! Cute wee warm rooms! Would highly recommend. pleasant stay!!

Room Tip: Room #2 was the biggest we found (out of the four we had)

As the other reviews suggest, you can confidently book a stay at the Gotyk House assured of excellent friendly and professional service. The Gotyk is around a one minute walk from the long market and the riverside and you can almost touch the church next to the hotel (don't miss a walk to the church tower for panoramic views of Gdansk). You really couldn't choose a more central location. Rooms are nicely appointed and breakfasts are tasty and ample. You will also be offered a range of tea and gingerbread each time you return to the hotel. Gdansk is a beautiful city with a very relaxed atmosphere and you could do no better than stay at the Gotyk House.

Gotyk House was the perfect place to stay in Gdansk. The staff were absolutely lovely and so helpful - they provided us with a lot of recommendations and advice on how to get various places. Also, on our last day we had to leave rather early - they arranged a car for us and breakfast in our room.

The small hotel is on a lovely quiet street, right beside St. Mary's Church. There are lots of nice restaurants within a few minutes walk - we particularly enjoyed Cafe Mon Balzac and Pierogarnia u Dzika for wonderful kielbasa and perogis. You are also just a few minutes walk away from the water and all of the sights of the old town.

Gdansk is a very friendly, interesting, and affordable place to visit. My fiance is Polish so it was easy to get around but any time I tried to speak to someone, everyone knew English. The staff of Gotyk House all spoke good English and were very helpful. Gdansk is full of history and Gotyk House is a great base to see everything.

The room we were in on the top floor was nice and warm, even with the window open for some of the day. It had a great bathroom with a good shower. It was very clean and with enough space to keep everything. There were only 2 pillows on the bed but I requested more and it wasn't a problem! Small tv with quite a few stations to chose from (all Polish, but hey, you're in Poland! :)). The breakfast was filling - meats, cheese, bread, tomato, cucumber, juice, and coffee or tea as well as wonderful gingerbread that you can buy downstairs as well.

I would not hesitate to recommend Gotyk House to anyone. It had a really nice 'bed and breakfast' feel to it. Lovely!

This is a fantastic boutique hotel on a beautiful street.

The rooms are gorgeous and clean and such great value.

Breakfast (delivered to your door) is basic, but delicious and plentiful.

The staff really make this place. All the women I met were so sweet and welcoming, it was like coming home to a friend's place at night.

HIGHLY recommend.
