We stayed for 4 nights in July. Hotel is well located just off the main square opposite the Tyn Church. It is in an old building and has lots of character . Our room was up 6 flights of steep stairs and whist we didn't expect a lift, help with bags would have been appreciated. My husband is in his 60s and found it tough going. The receptionist when we arrived wouldn't win any Miss Friendly competiton and thought it was amusing we had to struggle with our bags. It was a less than warm welcome. Our dusty room was a bit of a let down we were expecting something more charming this was just old, although the bathroom was a good size. Be warned there is no air con and not even a fan is supplied. We overlooked the alley way to the Main Square and it was so noisy at all hours that we couldn't have the windows open and could still hear noise even with ear plugs. It made the room so stuffy and other guests were complaining at breakfast about this also.
Breakfast was included in the price we paid and is served in a nice vaulted breakfast room. It was fine and had a choice of cooked and continental. The scrambled eggs were the best.
We didn't eat in the restaurant as there are many restaurants nearby. Try the Apostile opposite, excellent and also the French restaurant just left of the hotel downstairs excellent value menus, great quality and very friendly service.

Room Tip: If you find steep stairs hard best go elsewhere

We stayed here for 3 nights in July 2011. The room was spacious and clean. The beds were large, with good quality mattresses, if a bit creaky. The bathroom was huge, clean and modern. This hotel is in a very charming building, right in the centre of Prague, although the room wasn't noisy at all and we had the one looking out on the street - must be the thick 16th century walls. Breakfast was fine. Don't expect a full english fry-up. There were cereals, fruit, yoghurts, warm sausage and fried eggs, pastries, etc. Everything one needs really. The location of the hotel really enhanced one's enjoyment of Prague because we hardly ever had to use public transport - everything was right there, within a few minutes walk. The hotel's restaurant is also great.

Can recommend this and will go back.

Beautiful old (1300 14th c) restored unesco listed building. Good service with full breakfast included. Quiet room with windows closed. Great central location. No elevators so ask for a low floor if this is an issue. Authentic in all ways the Intercontinental is not.
