This is a somewhat strange hotel – parts are almost kitschy (the restaurant area and entrance) and rooms – at least mine – are classic (clean wood furniture, good bed, etc.). There is no AC (as specified on their web site) – I was there at the end of an extended hot spell and needed the fan in the room to sleep. I had one of the small single rooms – quite nice, though the shower was tiny – not for the obese. There was a TV with a small number of channels – the only one in English was CNN, and the TV5 French language channel was not working when I was there. The hotel is located at the south end of Kampa Park, in a quiet area just off the park and largely away from any important roads. My room was pretty close to their small velvet red covered elevator and, except for occasionally hearing it run, there was no noise at night. From my room I had a view of the Prague Castle. The included breakfast had many choices and was fairly good, though they (like most of Prague for that matter) have not adjusted to new norms – e.g., no non cow milks (soy, coconut, cashew), all cereals are very sweet, etc. Not a great choice for vegans, but for this vegetarian it was fine.

The hotel is located a 8 minute walk from the tourist hoards of the other end where the Charles Bridge comes across the river. Several trams pass on the nearby main road, and the old town square is maybe a 20 minute walk at a good pace away. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from where the funicular goes up the hill to the imitation Eiffel Tower – there is a nice park up there, and you can then walk down by churches and monasteries (and some very nice restaurants), down to Prague Castle. There are a few nice restaurants nearby (Italian, Czech and Mexican) – if you walk up Kampa Park right beside the small river, you will find several very pretty terrace restaurants too. Overall, this is quite a good hotel for the price. My only somewhat bad experience was taking the hotel taxi back to the airport – he charged more than advertised and dropped me off a 200 m walk from my terminal – not very professional. Hint – ask them to call a taxi. Otherwise, no complaints.

Room tip: Ask to be away from the elevator

Kampa hotel is located in a nice and quiet area. The room was just normal, mattress was verd hard. Bedcover and bedsheet were old. Toilet and bathroom were clean though. The first thing we noticed when we entered the room was a fan on the table and then we realized there was no aircon in the room. Our bad that we didn’t read the website carefully. Luckily we could open the windows, otherwise it was impossible to sleep in such a summer time. Breakfast was nothing special. The elevator was down for two days.

Great location, friendly staff, tasty and varied breakfast, restaurant with an Angus beef steak delicious.
It was excellent as always, an extra reason for a new 3-day stay in October. In Kampa Hotel we feel at home.
Thank you Hotel Kampa !

Stayed here with a friend in April of 2018. Great location and easy acces to transport and walking distance to most things.

Room was clean and breakfast was amazing. Not located on a main street so it was very quiet.
