Prague’s Jewish quarter is one of the best insights into Jewish history you will find in all of Europe. There’s so much to see and experience here, such as the Jewish Cemetery; Old New Synagogue; and Prague Jewish Museum.

If you are going to the Jewish quarter, you should buy tickets to enter the cemetery and the museum and synagogue. While they are beautiful, they are also haunting and some of the things you see give you a horrible reminder of a terrible period of history. But it is important to learn about it rather than forget, and this place is definitely worth visiting and walking around.

If you go to the Old Jewish Quarter you must buy tickets to look around or otherwise your journey has been wasted.
The old cemetery was amazing and we could not believe how tightly together the graves were packed. The cemetery dates back to about the 134th or 14th century and as a result the inscriptions on the headstones are so worn that they are unreadable. However, it is an experience to view the cemetery....

We had tickets for all bar the new old synagogue. There were a number of sites included. The Spanish synagogue had a rather unassuming exterior which made the ornate interior so much more impressive and a surprise. There is a lot of history so you can potentially learn as well as take in the phenomenal surroundings.

We perchased a ticket for all the Jewish quarter except the old new synagogue, this experience was a must, a real eye opener, the Spanish synagogue was the most ornate, absolutely beautiful. Upstairs there was even documentation, photos and records from the holocaust. The Jewish cemetery with all its headstones all shapes and sizes leaning upon each other. Hard to believe they are graves upon graves.
Also the pictures drawn by children from terazin camp, and wall full of names and dates of Jewish people that perished during the holocaust. This area is a must to visit.
