Like all Gothic/baroque churches in the Czech Republic, this lovely church, right next to the main town square, is well worth a visit to admire its architecture and beautiful baroque decor. And we will not be competing with tour groups!!

A beautiful church. Located right behind the main square. Definitely worth the visit if you are into churches and cathedrals etc.

St. Nicholas Church is a beautiful church located in the old town of Ceske Budejovice. It is a gothic church built in the 13th century in the gothic style. The facade is beautiful and the inner part, too. The belltower is separate from the main church. A normal visit.

Originally from the 13. century, but it was rebuilt in the 17. century. From 1631 to 1633 the Czech crown was kept here.

If you are in Ceske Budejovice, St Nicholas's Cathedral is a must. I do not know much about architecture, but I loved it. It's walls are not as over-painted as the ones of an orthodox church's or as spartan as a Catholic church's but it is simple yet impressive. The paintings are lovely and create a peaceful atmosphere.
